Did I mention the private medical the old man had in line ahead of us in the ER on Monday when I had to take my son in....well he was in a wheel chair, with his wife standing by...being made to wait in line...while having a F'N stroke. She is begging for help, telling them, he is having a stroke. They continue to make them wait in line. Finally they take them in the side door back, and my husband slips in with our son. I get back there a few minutes later, only to be told that he was pretty sure the guy was dead (as his aging wife watched in horror and was treated like dirt -standard operating procedure for those with pricy private insurance.) Meanwhile, the medicaid folks where busy getting treated.

Your right dude, people do die for freedom. And it costs a shit load of money to die like that too. Idiots. The medical system only works for those who don't have to use it. Go take a stroll down to any local big city ER and go see what really is going on.

P.S. When I was a single mother (after 10 years of marriage and my ex walked out because he could not deal with our son's disability and never came back) I had to go onto medicaid for me and the kids. I got FAR better treatment had FAR fewer headaches and got MUCH more respect than I get now paying more than I do for my mortgage for medical.

Thanks, MI, I'm glad to get the Former Medicaid Recipient perspective, because that's one constituency nobody seems interested in interviewing. Nor do the working poor - those earning just enough to miss Medicaid coverage but in shite jobs with no benefits - get to talk about their troubles much, it seems.

On the other side of the spectrum, I was at a backyard bbq a couple summers back where an executive officer of Goldman Sachs was complaining about the care his mother was getting. The bottom line is, if it sucks for everybody but those on on the govt plan, then clearly something needs to change. Why some people think this is a grand opportunity for shameless demagoguery frankly eludes me.

Clearly there needs to be some provision under "Obamacare" for the treatment of hysteria in Republicans.

oh shite, i'm sorry about your son being ill.

most of the people complaining (and you're so right here) have NEVER had to use the medical system.

oh i've been there as well stray, but left asap. every once in a while i DO have to make an appearance somewhere i don't want to (normally i don't do things i don't want to - meaning weddings or parties or showers or the like. i am VERY selective and quite anti-social SOME of the time).sometimes i owe a favor or have to keep a promise or acquire temporary insanity and DO go to a function with those i normally would not hang with. sometimes i actually enjoy myself most of the time i do NOT
