Faced with $27 billion budget deficit, Gov. Perry focuses on abortion, anti-immigration and voter ID

He sounds a lot like the House GOP leadership. Ignore the real issues and go for the social issues that are only divisive and have nothing to do with getting people back to work. Perry is clueless.
The state ranks last in the country in percentage of adults with a high school diploma and first in the share of the population without health insurance.

"Governor Perry has been waking up in a very different reality than most citizens of Texas," State Senator Wendy Davis, a Fort Worth Democrat, said at a press conference. "Their reality is becoming starker by the day.".................

AFA’s Bryan Fischer: Native Americans Have Never Had Morals
 by Jack Stuef

The American Family Association’s Chief Being Racist Correspondent Bryan Fischer has already warned us about Barack Obama giving America’s lands back to the Injuns. But did you know it never really belonged to them in the first place, because they didn’t have Christian “morals”? “Time eventually ran out for the Canaanites, because they filled up the full measure of their iniquity. Time ran out for the native American tribes for the same reason.” Those weren’t colonial muskets and smallpox blankets killing Indians. They were God’s muskets and smallpox blankets. No, this op-ed was not written in the 1600s. It was written 400 years later, because, wouldn’t you know it, current Native Americans are “guilty” of being just as immoral as those evil savages were.
How does Fischer know the natives got their due? The Bible..............

oh, here's some 'stuff' I FOUND from the bible:
8. Deuteronomy 23:1 ESV

No one whose testicles are crushed or whose male organ is cut off shall enter the assembly of the Lord.

1. Deuteronomy 25:11-12 NASB

If two men, a man and his countryman, are struggling together, and the wife of one comes near to deliver her husband from the hand of the one who is striking him, and puts out her hand and seizes his genitals, then you shall cut off her hand; you shall not show pity.

Christine O'Donnell Will Use Committee To 'Investigate' Left-Wing Groups
Failed GOP Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell is back, and she's telling supporters she wants her newly formed political action committee ChristinePAC to "investigate and counter attack leftwing groups."
O'Donnell, who wrote that her losing campaign sent "shockwaves" throughout the nation, said in an e-mail to supporters Tuesday that her group will look into the groups "funded with one million dollars or more from billionaire leftist George Soros."...............

The Apostate

Paul Haggis vs. the Church of Scientology

by Lawrence Wright

On August 19, 2009, Tommy Davis, the chief spokesperson for the Church of Scientology International, received a letter from the film director and screenwriter Paul Haggis. “For ten months now I have been writing to ask you to make a public statement denouncing the actions of the Church of Scientology of San Diego,” Haggis wrote. Before the 2008 elections, a staff member at Scientology’s San Diego church had signed its name to an online petition supporting Proposition 8, which asserted that the State of California should sanction marriage only “between a man and a woman.” The proposition passed...................

Betting on News, AOL Is Buying The Huffington Post
The two companies completed the sale Sunday evening and were expected to announce the deal Monday morning. AOL will pay $315 million, $300 million of it in cash and the rest in stock. It will be the company’s largest acquisition since it was separated from Time Warner in 2009.
The deal will allow AOL to greatly expand its news gathering and original content creation, areas that its chief executive, Tim Armstrong, views as vital to reversing a decade-long decline...........

Controversy Remains After Priest's Confession Of Sexual Indiscretion During Exorcism

Roger Bianchini

Roger Bianchini

A version of this article first appeared at MyFrontRoyal.com.
An increasingly shrill and sometimes threatening tide of Catholic online debate about the reasons for the sudden and unexpected Aug. 27, 2010 departure of Father Thomas Euteneuer from his post as president of Human Life International led to a flurry of official apologies, explanations and defenses of both Euteneuer's past behavior as not only the superstar of the international pro-life movement, but also an exorcist for the Catholic Church.
The Internet crescendo peaked in the wake of a Jan. 27th medical emergency at HLI's Front Royal, Virginia headquarters described by emergency medical responders as a "medical seizure" and by some witnesses as a "demonic possession" of a past female associate of Father Euteneuer's. Five days later, as the Catholic blogosphere exploded with theories and accusations against the priest, attacks on both the priest's critics and alleged victims, Euteneuer broke the five months of official silence with an admission of one instance of moral failing during his performance of an exorcism...............
