what's the difference between these two 'men'?

they both had 'sex' with minors. they both are not in possession of their right minds. they both are living outside of the law. they both do NOT think they did anything wrong. oh, the difference? one gets 45 days the other gets life (BOTH should get life) first this dude: Polygamist gets 45 days for sex with teen bride
Investigator fears sentence sends wrong message
By Harriet Ryan Court TV
(Court TV) -- An Arizona judge has sentenced a polygamist to 45 days in county jail for having sex with a teenager he took as his third wife.
The sentence disappointed authorities in Kingman, Arizona, who had hoped a harsher punishment for defendant Kelly Fischer would discourage others in the church from taking teenage wives.
Fischer was the first of seven members of the Fundamentalist Latter-day Saints (FLDS) to be tried for plural marriages to minors.
"I don't know if we've sent a strong enough message to these people," said Gary Engels, an investigator with the Mohave County Attorney's office.
About 7,000 FLDS members live in the twin border towns of Colorado City, Arizona, and Hildale, Utah.
Members of the group, which broke with mainstream Mormons in the 1890s over polygamy, believe that only those in plural marriages can reach the highest level of heaven.........
and THIS dude Man Says Sex With Kids a Sacred Ritual CLEVELAND (AP) -- A man accused of sexually assaulting nine boys with physical or mental disabilities told a judge that having sex with children is a sacred ritual protected by civil rights laws.

Phillip Distasio, who said he is the leader of a church called Arcadian Fields Ministries, represented himself at his pretrial hearing Wednesday. He is charged with 74 counts including rape, pandering obscenity to minors and corrupting another with drugs.

"I'm a pedophile. I've been a pedophile for 20 years," he said in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Wednesday. "The only reason I'm charged with rape is that no one believes a child can consent to sex. The role of my ministry is to get these cases out of the courtrooms."...........

ya gotta love midge

and ya gotta give the sheriff props too 6-pound Chihuahua is tiny drug-finding dog
Small K-9s do less damage, may be part of a growing national trend CHARDON, Ohio - Though she’s only a 6-pound Chihuahua-rat terrier mix who looks like she belongs in Paris Hilton’s purse, Midge has the will, skill and nose of a 100-pound German shepherd.
The newest recruit for the Geauga County Sheriff Department’s K-9 unit could very well be the nation’s smallest drug-sniffing pooch.
“Good girl,” Sheriff Dan McClelland says, praising the 7-month-old, tail-wagging puppy, during a recent training exercise. McClelland began training Midge for drug-detecting duties when she was just 3 months old, after reading about departments being sued by suspects whose cars or homes were damaged by larger dogs.
Like many police departments, Geauga County has had German shepherds and Labrador retrievers for years. In fact, visitors often ask, “Is the big dog out?” — referring to 125-pound Brutus, says Lt. Tom McCaffrey, Brutus’ handler............

George W. Bush Calls Himself

on my way home from work yesterday, i heard (i came into it already on) king george's comedy routine. it was so bizarre to me, i thought it was one of those king george impersonators. i guess not

careful who you text message......

pam's house blend poses an interesting question: WWJD about porno text messaging?

why would ANYONE (unless your name was saddam or momar or fidel or che OR oh yes, king george)

want a man like this to be a leader in their armed services? one would think the leaders of nations would want men and women with intelligence, strength (of mind and will), bravery, compassion, HONOR............ but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Army Commander Investigated in Iraq Killing Spree

By JONATHAN KARL
Aug. 1, 2006 — - Col. Michael Steele, whose heroics were portrayed in the movie "Black Hawk Down," is under investigation for allegedly encouraging his men to go on a killing spree. The investigation begins just as the Army has started to make its case against four soldiers who are charged with murdering three Iraqi civilians while under Steele's command, ABC News has learned.
The soldiers' defense is that they were under orders to kill all military-age males.
ABC News has learned that Steele has already been reprimanded for the incident.......

even stephen king and john irving are beggin' for harry's life Don't kill Harry Potter, US authors urge Rowling Tue Aug 1, 2006 6:13 PM BST
By Claudia Parsons
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Two of America's top authors, John Irving and Stephen King, made a plea to J.K. Rowling on Tuesday not to kill the fictional boy wizard Harry Potter in the final book of the series, but Rowling made no promises.
"My fingers are crossed for Harry," Irving said at a joint news conference before a charity reading by the three writers at New York's Radio City Music Hall.
The author of "The World According to Garp" and a string of other bestsellers said he and King felt like "warm-up bands" for Rowling, who is working on the seventh and last book in the Harry Potter series, and who has said two characters will die.
King, who shot to fame in 1974 with "Carrie," said he had confidence that Rowling would be "fair" to her hero.
"I don't want him to go over the Reichenbach Falls," King said in a reference to Arthur Conan Doyle's effort to kill off the character of fictional detective Sherlock Holmes. Pressure from fans eventually led Conan Doyle to resurrect Holmes, who was found in a later story to have survived.
Rowling, a Briton whose books have sold 300 million copies worldwide according to her publishers, said she was well into the process of writing the final book.
"I feel quite liberated," she said..........

it could have been any country

it was israel this time, but it could have been the u.s. or korea or india or somalia or northern ireland or the congo or as i said, anywhere. it doesn't have to be with a bomb. it can be with a machete or a single gun. when will this stop? children, children are being killed. innocents. why can't we concentrate on feeding the hungry? on education? on caring for one another? why care more about a border than a human being?

Israel suspends air strikes after 52 killed in Lebanon

by Stephen Collinson Sun Jul 30, 7:18 PM ET
Israel agreed to temporarily halt air strikes in south Lebanon a day after 52 people were killed, many of them sleeping children, when Israeli warplanes bombarded the Lebanese village of Qana, triggering global outrage and warnings of retribution for alleged "war crimes".
The 48-hour halt to aerial activity was announced by an aide to US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, whose latest Middle East mission was thrown into turmoil by the attack.
"Israel has agreed to a 48-hour suspension of aerial activity in south Lebanon" pending an investigation into the Qana attack, spokesman Adam Ereli told reporters just after midnight following talks between Rice and top Israeli officials.
The halt is effective immediately, and Israel will also coordinate with the United Nations on a 24-hour period of "safe passage" for civilians who wish to leave the area, Ereli said.
Police said 52 villagers, including 30 children, were killed in the pre-dawn air raid Sunday which left homes in ruins and villagers trapped under the rubble. Bahia Hariri, an MP for southern Lebanon, said 15 of the children were disabled.
It was the bloodiest attack since Israel launched its war on the Shiite Muslim group Hezbollah following the capture of two soldiers on July 12.............

now i know why the tillman family will never know the truth about their sons death

they don't deserve to, they DO NOT BELONG TO ANY CHURCH

what an interesting article by stan goff, someone in the know i might add. it's frightening to me people like lt. col. ralph kauzlarich are leaders of our service men and women. they think themselves as good and the non-believers (when i say non believers i mean people who do NOT believe exactly the SAME things as themselves) are satan.

Playing the Atheism Card Against Pat Tillman’s Family

U.S. Army Special Forces. During an active-duty career that spanned 1970 to
1996, he served with the elite Delta Force and Rangers, and in Vietnam,
Guatemala, Grenada, El Salvador, Colombia, Peru, Somalia and Haiti.
He is a
veteran of the Jungle Operations Training Center in Panama and also taught
military science at the United States Military Academy at West Point.
Goff
is the author of the books “Hideous Dream—A Soldier’s Memoir of the U.S.
Invasion of Haiti,” “Full Spectrum Disorder—The Military in the New American
Century” and “Sex & War.”
In this article Goff writes on the events
surrounding the fratricidal death of Army Ranger and former NFL player Pat
Tillman, and the possible military coverup that ensued.
Goff argues that
Tillman’s commanding officer, in a recent ESPN magazine interview, made a series
of shockingly callous statements about the Tillman family’s search for the truth
because the officer was trying to divert attention from the role he may have
played in the alleged coverup.
Goff’s previously published articles on this
subject can be found at the online publication From the
Wilderness
.
His research for those articles included a detailed review
of more than 2,500 pages of official briefings and documents from three
investigations, in addition to extensive interviews with Tillman family members
and some of the soldiers in Tillman’s unit.

Lt. Col. Ralph Kauzlarich has taken Christ into his heart, or so he says. Like my old colleague, Lt. Gen. William G. (“Jerry”) Boykin, he has also carried the organically entrapped messiah onto the heathen-infested battlegrounds of Southwest Asia. Kauzlarich is the subject of my exposition today, but Boykin is his context.
You all remember Jerry Boykin—the general who, as part of the Bush 2003 civil relations effort in Iraq, called Muslims idol worshippers.
Back in the Reagan days, Boykin and I were simultaneously assigned to the allegedly super-secret Delta Force. He was a major then, and he would organize prayer breakfasts for the unit, driving many of us out of the building to purchase sausage-biscuits. His evangelical lunacy was already under siege then. Special Operations is a motley fraternity, in which operators are as likely to worship Odin or an oak tree as they are to attend Sunday services.

Boykin’s recent rise is symptomatic of War Secretary Donald Rumsfeld’s fascination with Special Operations—in spite of its generally dismal record. Kauzlarich was on the same career fast track when he was the 75th Ranger Regiment’s “cross commander” at Forward Operating Base Salerno, Khoust, Afghanistan, in 2004. ......

well i guess all the rumors about mel

were true. his father spouting shite about the holocaust not happening and mel not denying him. the alleged anti-semitism in the passion of the christ (i've not seen it so that is why i used 'alleged' and of course i won't see it). don't blame alcohol for your true feelings mel. yeah, you were drunk and people can do and say things they normally wouldn't do or say, sober. BUT what you believe is what you believe drunk OR sober. hey mel....did anyone tell you jesus was jewish?

Mel Gibson apologizes for 'despicable' statements after arrest; Police say report won't be 'sanitized'

"I acted like a person completely out of control when I was arrested, and said things that I do not believe to be true and which are despicable," Mel Gibson said in a statement released Saturday after reports that the actor made some anti-Semitic remarks when police arrested him for suspicion of drunk driving the other day.
"I disgraced myself and my family with my behavior and for that I am truly sorry," Gibson's statement continued. "I have battled with the disease of alcoholism for all of my adult life and profoundly regret my horrific relapse."
A Time Warner Website posted what it claims are
four pages of the arresting officer's police report, which was not released to the press.
"Fucking Jews," cursed Gibson according to the published
report. "The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world."...........

and here's an article with a little bit more info on the whole debacle..

Mel Gibson, Jew hater

By Evan Derkacz
Posted on July 29, 2006, Printed on July 30, 2006http://www.alternet.org/bloggers/evan/39662/
Mel Gibson, director of Jesus gore-fest The Passion of the Christ, was pulled over for drunk driving early Friday morning, launching almost immediately into a Jew-hating tirade of, well, biblical proportions.
"F*****g Jews... The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world." Gibson then asked the deputy, "Are you a Jew?"
In addition he threatened to...
fuck the officer several times, snapped at a female officer, "What do you think you're looking at, sugar tits?", bragged that he "owns Malibu" and that he "will spend all of his money to 'get even' with me," according to Deputy James Mee's report.
The original report that is, since the L.A. Sheriff's office had him
remove all the yucky stuff because, as Mee was told by higher-ups, "Gibson's comments would incite a lot of 'Jewish hatred,' [and] that the situation in Israel was 'way too inflammatory.'"
Right. Sure. People just hear Jew hatred and rush from the dinner table for a little pogrom. Consider the nation's intelligence insulted and the LA Sheriff's office bought and paid for.
Nikki Finke of Deadline Hollywood
spoke with the sheriff's office, which denies the cover-up, but early reports have the sheriff's spokesman claiming that Gibson was arrested "without incident" so it's highly unlikely that he just happened to have messed up, that Mee just happens to have claimed that he was told to write another report and that other officers (as stated above) gave excuses for the report. ..........

a shocking story; an evangelical pastor who actually thinks what jesus would want???

wow!!! actually, he is as i stated an evangelical. i am quite certain he IS conservative. he is totally against abortion and gay marriage and on and on. yet, he realizes there IS a need of separation of church and state. there IS a need to turn your swords into plowshares. there IS a need to use your heart and mind and soul.

Disowning Conservative Politics Is Costly for Pastor
By LAURIE GOODSTEIN, The New York Times

MAPLEWOOD, Minn. (July 30) -- Like most pastors who lead thriving evangelical megachurches, the Rev. Gregory A. Boyd was asked frequently to give his blessing -- and the church's -- to conservative political candidates and causes.

The requests came from church members and visitors alike: Would he please announce a rally against gay marriage during services? Would he introduce a politician from the pulpit? Could members set up a table in the lobby promoting their anti-abortion work? Would the church distribute “voters’ guides” that all but endorsed Republican candidates? And with the country at war, please couldn’t the church hang an American flag in the sanctuary?
After refusing each time, Mr. Boyd finally became fed up, he said. Before the last presidential election, he preached six sermons called “The Cross and the Sword” in which he said the church should steer clear of politics, give up moralizing on sexual issues, stop claiming the United States as a “Christian nation” and stop glorifying American military campaigns..............

.........In his six sermons, Mr. Boyd laid out a broad argument that the role of Christians was not to seek “power over” others -- by controlling governments, passing legislation or fighting wars.
Christians should instead seek to have “power under” others — “winning people’s hearts” by sacrificing for those in need, as Jesus did, Mr. Boyd said.
“America wasn’t founded as a theocracy,” he said. “America was founded by people trying to escape theocracies. Never in history have we had a Christian theocracy where it wasn’t bloody and barbaric. That’s why our Constitution wisely put in a separation of church and state.
“I am sorry to tell you,” he continued, “that America is not the light of the world and the hope of the world. The light of the world and the hope of the world is Jesus Christ.”........

even the nyt knows it's time for da liebs to go

and time for ned lamont to be a senator from connecticut.. the war HAS TO STOP. we have NO BUSINESS being in iraq and we have NO BUSINESS goading other countries into war in the middle east. we have NO BUSINESS torturing prisoners. we have NO BUSINESS standing by and letting the people of the world die. hell, the king and his court cannot even care for their OWN citizens (katrina for example). a change must come and it must come now. and no, i'm NOT a hysterical anti-war blogger trying to oust a bipartisan senator. i'm trying to oust someone who supports a war we have no moral, ethical or ANY reason to be in. our men and women are dying every day. FOR NO REASON. the iraqis did NOT blow up the world trade center. why are we killing them?

A Senate Race in Connecticut
Published: July 30, 2006
Earlier this year, Senator Joseph Lieberman’s seat seemed so secure that — legend has it — some people at the Republican nominating convention in Connecticut started making bleating noises when the party picked a presumed sacrificial lamb to run against the three-term senator, who has been a fixture in Connecticut politics for more than 35 years. But Mr. Lieberman is now in a tough Democratic primary against a little-known challenger, Ned Lamont. The race has taken on a national character. Mr. Lieberman’s friends see it as an attempt by hysterical antiwar bloggers to oust a giant of the Senate for the crime of bipartisanship. Lamont backers — most of whom seem more passionate about being Lieberman opponents — say that as one of the staunchest supporters of the Iraq war, Mr. Lieberman has betrayed his party by cozying up to President Bush...........

.........If Mr. Lieberman had once stood up and taken the lead in saying that there were some places a president had no right to take his country even during a time of war, neither he nor this page would be where we are today. But by suggesting that there is no principled space for that kind of opposition, he has forfeited his role as a conscience of his party, and has forfeited our support. ...............
