from pam's house blend a link up to the exodus freedom (there is NO freedom in THAT group, you can rest assured) conference. they'll teach you that masturbation is JUST as WRONG as homosexuality.............

i had to post this one directly from exodus freedom. ONE of the MANY workshops from the exodus 'freedom' conference. i am sorry to say we ALL MISSED IT. it was in 2006, but we can clasp our hands together and pray they once again have it in 2007

General
What God Says About Sex (did god tell them directly what she thinks of sex i wonder??) What God says about Homosexuality is best understood in context of what He says about sex (first off, god isn't a he, god is a she. someone tell these folks. second off, once again, did god PERSONALLY tell these folks what SHE thinks of homosexuality? ). In this workshop, Eric will cover several key points including Why God Created Sex, Staying Pure (PURE????) Before and Within Marriage, Dealing With Temptation, and Becoming Pure Again (PURE AGAIN??? wtf??). The focus of this workshop is to present material that will help in discovering and putting in to practice what God says about sex (what god says about you people is just what frankie say: RELAX).

Army asks dead to sign up for another hitch

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Army said Friday it would apologize to the families of about 275 officers killed or wounded in action who were mistakenly sent letters urging them to return to active duty.
The letters were sent a few days after Christmas to more than 5,100 Army officers who had recently left the service. Included were letters to about 75 officers killed in action and about 200 wounded in action.
"Army personnel officials are contacting those officers' families now to personally apologize for erroneously sending the letters," the Army said in a brief news release issued Friday night.
The Army did not say how or when the mistake was discovered. It said the database normally used for such correspondence with former officers had been "thoroughly reviewed" to remove the names of wounded or dead soldiers............

i got some good news and some bad news yesterday

yesterday afternoon west hartford animal control called me (i called them at about 9 am and left a voice mail about teeny mambo sven). they used teeny mambo sven's rabies tag to call her vet. the vet put animal control on the track of teeny mambo sven's human companions. it appears they just moved to the area. animal control had not gotten the human's new phone number yet, but they were working on it. so the good news is teeny mambo sven was well on her way to being reunited with her family. the bad news is teeny mambo sven will not be in MY life.

Friday, January 05, 2007

i don't really have to be at work at 3 am. i'm just a chronic insomniac

i don’t know why the west hartford police have to be sooooooooo mean! they just carted off, in a cruiser, the brand new LOVE OF MY LIFE.

(kidding). once again a SHOUT OUT to them. (whenever our paths cross, i have always had a positive experience with the west hartford police force).

on my way to work this morning, iwas mindin’ my own bid-nez as everyone knows i do. i stopped and got my coffee (just down the street from work) and for some reason or another, i decided i just had to quick head home again to get somethin’ somethin’. i got my somethin’ somethin’ and was headed back to work. no sooner than i was four blocks down the street and stopped at a light (yes, I DO stop at 3 am) this TINY little teeny weenie dog whose name was obviously mambo sven (please see:
this)
started to come up to my car IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. i flung open my car door and he or she (i never did check) jumped right in. mambo sven stayed by my feet because i had a butt in my hand and i could tell teeny mambo sven didn’t care for it. so i put it out (in my ashtray, i NEVER litter) and teeny mambo sven immediately jumped right into my lap and put her or his head on my neck (i fell in love right there and then). i’m stopped in the middle of the road mind you. of course it’s 3 am so thankfully there was NO traffic. i have my dome light on, my door open, the music going (robin trower whom teeny mambo sven seemed to like a great deal) and my flashers on. i decided to pull just around the corner to get a bit more out of the way. i tried to read the little tag on the dog hoping above all hope it was a name and phone number. no such luck. it was a vaccination tag. i couldn’t kick teeny mambo sven out of my car and i knew i couldn’t bring teeny mambo sven to work so i had to think of what to do. hey, i have an idea i says to myself, why don’t i call west Hartford animal control! so i did. hoping upon hope someone was there. guess what? at 3 am, NO ONE is there. you get a recording telling you if it’s an emergency to call the west hartford police (and they give you the number too on the recording). i had no choice but to call the police. they asked my name, my phone number and what kind of car i was in and of course location. within a couple of minutes a VERY CORDIAL (especially for that time of day) west hartford police officer arrived. i told him i just couldn’t leave teeny mambo sven wandering around the roads of the hood (i’m thinking coyotes now). the officer took down the same info (it’s a rule i believe. to give the same information you gave over the phone – in person now. i’m NOT complaining – i just think it odd indeed). then he tossed teeny mambo sven (well, he really didn’t TOSS the hound from hell, i used that word for dramatic effect) into the back of the cruiser. the officer advised me to make a follow-up call to animal control. "who knows", he said, "perhaps no one will claim little teeny mambo sven" (of course the officer also pointed out teeny mambo sven was groomed and looked well-fed). I’d love for mambo sven to be found by her or his family (at the same time, in my soul, i’d also like to be able to have mambo sven in MY life)

and now both my car and i SMELL LIKE DOG (and it’s been far too long since that was the case).

i love you teeny mambo sven

And thanks again to the officer for his kindness

mambo sven busted and in a west hartford police car

i haven't posted on this before

but i have definitely been following the story.

the truth does prevail. let's see the right keep on denying the existence of THIS witness (finally acknowledged by both the iraqi government and OUR government). of course the man is in deep shite now, for speaking to the media..........

Shocking Twist: Disputed AP Source in Iraq Does Exist -- And Now Faces Arrest for Talking to Media

By E&P Staff Published: January 04, 2007 5:20 PM ET updated 8:00 PM ET
NEW YORK The Associated Press has just sent E&P the following dispatch from Baghdad, as it was about to be distributed on its wire. The existence of Jamil Hussein had been hotly disputed by conservative bloggers, some Iraqi officials and the U.S. military in recent weeks. *BAGHDAD (AP) -- The Interior Ministry acknowledged Thursday that an Iraqi police officer whose existence had been denied by the Iraqis and the U.S. military is in fact an active member of the force, and said he now faces arrest for speaking to the media.Ministry spokesman Brig. Abdul-Karim Khalaf, who had previously denied there was any such police employee as Capt. Jamil Hussein, said in an interview that Hussein is an officer assigned to the Khadra police station, as had been reported by The Associated Press. The captain, whose full name is Jamil Gholaiem Hussein, was one of the sources for an AP story in late November about the burning and shooting of six people during a sectarian attack at a Sunni mosque. The U.S. military and the Iraqi Interior Ministry raised the doubts about Hussein in questioning the veracity of the AP's initial reporting on the incident, and the Iraqi ministry suggested that many news organization were giving a distorted, exaggerated picture of the conflict in Iraq. Some Internet bloggers spread and amplified these doubts, accusing the AP of having made up Hussein's identity in order to disseminate false news about the war..........

...........As recently as yesterday, Michelle Malkin, the best-known blog critic of Hussein's existence, stated flatly "the fact that there is no police captain named 'Jamil Hussein' working now or ever in either Yarmouk or al Khadra, according to on-the-ground sources in Baghdad. Late this afternoon, she posted part of the AP dispatch above with the comment, "Checking it out. Moving forward...." She later sent a note to the blog of another Hussein doubter, Allahpundit, stating, "Just to clarify, I’m not apologizing for anything.".............

and hey michelle, i don't want you to apologize for ANYTHING. all i want is for you to SHUT THE EFF UP

america, home of the WHAT?

W pushes envelope on U.S. spying
New postal law lets Bush peek through your mail

BY JAMES GORDON MEEKDAILY NEWS WASHINGTON BUREAU

WASHINGTON - President Bush has quietly claimed sweeping new powers to open Americans' mail without a judge's warrant, the Daily News has learned.
The President asserted his new authority when he signed a postal reform bill into law on Dec. 20. Bush then issued a "signing statement" that declared his right to open people's mail under emergency conditions.
That claim is contrary to existing law and contradicted the bill he had just signed, say experts who have reviewed it.
Bush's move came during the winter congressional recess and a year after his secret domestic electronic eavesdropping program was first revealed. It caught Capitol Hill by surprise.
"Despite the President's statement that he may be able to circumvent a basic privacy protection, the new postal law continues to prohibit the government from snooping into people's mail without a warrant," said Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.), the incoming House Government Reform Committee chairman, who co-sponsored the bill.
Experts said the new powers could be easily abused and used to vacuum up large amounts of mail..................

the king and (some of) his court are running amok

and no one is doing anything to stop them. we are sinking deeper and deeper into the mire. i'm beyond angry now. i'm frightened. why won't anyone (who CAN) stop this mess (like our newly elected officials) DO SOMETHING?

in passing i saw three dems being interviewed on the news yesterday. i forgot who they were but one may have been nancy pelosi (not sure wasn't paying all of my attention at the time). the newscaster was asking the three dems if they were going to do anything to stop the king and his court and their impending surge of sending our men and women to their deaths. they ALL said, NOPE, he was the commander in chief.

i am (almost) speechless

'Clean sweep': Bush replaces top general in Middle East who opposed troop surge

In what appears to be a military shakeup surrounding Iraq, President Bush has replaced both the top US general in the Middle East and the top general in Iraq, ABC NEWS is reporting on air.
Admiral William J. Fallon will replace Gen. John Abizaid, US commander in the Middle East, who announced his retirement in December and was expected to leave the post in March. Abizaid was a critic of Bush's efforts to add more troops to Iraq, but the circumstances of his early departure are unclear.
"The president wants a clean sweep," an official
told ABC News.
"Fallon, who is in the Navy, is currently head of Pacific Command; he will be overseeing two ground wars, so the appointment is highly unusual," ABC reports.
According to a Kansas City Star article published December 24, "Commanders have been skeptical of the value of increasing troops. The decision represents a reversal for Casey, the highest-ranking officer in Iraq. Casey and Gen. John P. Abizaid, the top commander in the Middle East, have long resisted adding troops in Iraq,
David Petraeus will replace General George Casey, commander of US forces in Iraq. Casey originally opposed the President's plan to add troops in Iraq,
arguing it could delay "the development of Iraqi security forces and increase anger at the United States in the Arab world."
The
LA Times recently reported that Abizaid's departure could clear the way for a more aggressive strategy in Iraq............

someone made a comment on one of my postings

so, i went to his blog to check it out. i must admit i only read two or three sentences and i started to gag. i SHOULD have known better but i looked at his blog links and chose one to peruse. it was written by a woman and the name made me want to check it out (i SHOULD have known i tell ya). what i saw was so horrid, so hateful, so closed-minded. it was unbelievable. (no, i didn't read the post in it's entirety)

she 'went off' on the cnn report of the fbi findings at gitmo. she named a few of the minor transgressions and called the 'terrorists' crybabies.

what she doesn't understand (obviously) is VERY FEW of these people are indeed CONVICTED CRIMINALS. some don't even have charges against them. how can you treat someone like that? how can WE expect to be treated fairly when WE are captured?

i am ALL FOR locking up the guilty (including those who bomb abortion clinics, shoot doctors, bomb federal buildings in oklahoma) and making them pay for their crimes.

i would have thought those that get on their soapboxes and proclaim themselves to be 'christian' would NOT wish torture on anyone. ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO HAVE NOT BEEN PROVEN GUILTY OF ANY CRIME(S).

there ARE real heros out there

there ARE people who care about their fellow human beings. stories like this warm my soul

Hero saves teen who fell on NYC subway tracks
Man leaps, pushes 18-year-old into trough, allowing train to pass over them

NEW YORK - A quick-thinking commuter saved a teenager who fell on the subway tracks by pushing him down into a trough between the rails, allowing an approaching train to pass right over them, police said.
An 18-year-old man had some kind of medical problem Tuesday and fell onto the tracks, which are a few feet below platform level, police said. Wesley Autrey of Manhattan saw him fall, jumped down onto the tracks after him and rolled with him into the rut between the rails as a southbound train was coming in.
Autrey said he initially tried to pull the man up to the platform but had to decide whether he could get him up in time to avoid both of them getting hit...............

hey goode, was timothy mcvey a muslim?

i didn't think so. was the dude who blew up abortion clinics and set a bomb off at the olympics a muslim? i didn't think so. yet, THEY too were terrorists. terror comes in all flavors. radical foaming at the mouth terrorists come in all shapes and sizes. all muslims are not terrorists and all terrorists are NOT muslim. there are plenty of bible-totin' jesus-loves-me type of terrorists out there too. right HERE as our next door neighbors. PLENTY and they scare me MORE than someone in a foreign land

i was under the (mis)belief christians opened their hearts to all. once again, i'm wrong

a shout out to USA TODAY for having the stones to say IN PRINT virgil goode is an ugly american
Rep. defends 'anti-Muslim' letter in USA Today op-ed; Paper slams his 'ugly voice'

Congressman Virgil Goode (Va-Rep) defended himself from anti-Muslim accusations in an Op-Ed published in Wednesday's USA Today. The paper's editorial page slams Goode as an "ugly voice" for his "crude swipe" at Minnesota's Democratic Congressman-elect Keith Ellison and "all Muslims."
Last month, Goode sent a letter to his constituents last month which argued that, "if American citizens don't wake up and adopt the Virgil Goode position on immigration there will likely be many more Muslims elected to office demanding the use of the Koran."
Keith Ellison has been newly elected to Congress and plans to use the Koran during his personal swearing in ceremony..........

..............Goode's Op-Ed raised the specter of the 9/11 attacks.
"Let us remember that we were not attacked by a nation on 9/11; we were attacked by extremists who acted in the name of the Islamic religion," Goode wrote. "I believe that if we do not stop illegal immigration totally, reduce legal immigration and end diversity visas, we are leaving ourselves vulnerable to infiltration by those who want to mold the United States into the image of their religion, rather than working within the Judeo-Christian principles that have made us a beacon for freedom-loving persons around the world."
USA Today notes that if "Goode is worried about Muslim immigrants, he's about 260 years too late in Ellison's case," since "Ellison traces his ancestors to Louisiana in 1742."..........

CNN apologizes for Obama gaffe in Bin Laden graphic

Filed by Michael Roston
Update: Senator Obama's office called RAW STORY to comment on the incident and CNN's apology, which can be found at this link or at the end of this story.

A Monday night broadcast of CNN's Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer confused America's "number one enemy" with one of America's most popular senators, RAW STORY has learned. CNN apologized for the error, which came after a series of incidents in recent months in which Illinois Democrat Senator Barack Obama was subtly or directly linked with militant Islamic personalities who have been hostile to the United States.
During the Jan. 1 broadcast of Wolf Blitzer's nightly news program, a pre-commercial preview of the show's next segment included a story on the hunt for Al Qaeda's leadership. Over a photo of Osama Bin Laden and his second-in-command Ayman Al-Zawahiri, Blitzer stated,
according to the transcript, "Plus, a new year, but the same mission. Will 2007 bring any new changes in the hunt for Osama bin Laden?"............

..................Blitzer apologized during this morning's coverage of the Gerald Ford funeral.
"I just want to make a correction, an apology, Soledad, for what we did yesterday. In 'The Situation Room,' we had a bad graphic," Blitzer said in a transcript delivered to RAW STORY by CNN's public relations staff. "We were doing a piece on the hunt for Osama Bin Laden in this new year 2007. Unfortunately, instead of saying "where is Osama," it said "where is Obama." I'm going to be calling Senator Barack Obama to make a personal apology."
A CNN employee also told RAW STORY an additional apology was offered by Soledad O'Brien earlier in the morning................

Video: UFO over O'Hare Airport? Published January 1, 2007
It sounds like a tired joke--but a group of airline employees insist they are in earnest, and they are upset that neither their bosses nor the government will take them seriously.A flying saucerlike object hovered low over O'Hare International Airport for several minutes before bolting through thick clouds with such intense energy that it left an eerie hole in overcast skies, said some United Airlines employees who observed the phenomenon. Was it an alien spaceship? A weather balloon lost in the airspace over the world's second-busiest airport? A top-secret military craft? Or simply a reflection from lights that played a trick on the eyes?Officials at United professed no knowledge of the Nov. 7 event--which was reported to the airline by as many as a dozen of its own workers--when the Tribune started asking questions recently. But the Federal Aviation Administration said its air traffic control tower at O'Hare did receive a call from a United supervisor asking if controllers had spotted a mysterious elliptical-shaped craft sitting motionless over Concourse C of the United terminal. No controllers saw the object, and a preliminary check of radar found nothing out of the ordinary, FAA spokeswoman Elizabeth Isham Cory said. The FAA is not conducting a further investigation, Cory said. The theory is the sighting was caused by a "weather phenomenon," she said. The UFO report has sparked some chuckles among controllers in O'Hare tower.........

CNN asks 'Where's Obama?' in segment on Bin Laden

A Monday night broadcast of CNN's Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer confused America's "number one enemy" with one of America's most popular senators, RAW STORY has learned.
During a January 1st broadcast of Wolf Blitzer's nightly news program, a pre-commercial preview of the show's next segment included a story on the hunt for Al Qaeda's leadership. Over a photo of Osama Bin Laden and his second-in-command Ayman Al-Zawahiri, Blitzer stated,
according to the transcript, "Plus, a new year, but the same mission. Will 2007 bring any new changes in the hunt for Osama bin Laden?"
But instead of asking "Where's Osama?" the graphic over the two Islamists read "Where's Obama?" referencing the surname of popular Illinois Democrat Senator Barack Obama.
RAW STORY is awaiting comments on the graphic from corporate staff at CNN............

Park Service inanity: they won't tell us how old the Grand Canyon is

By Don HazenPosted on December 28, 2006, Printed on December 31, 2006http://www.alternet.org/bloggers/don/46043/
According to Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility (PEER) in a report released this week [PDF], Grand Canyon National Park is not permitted to give an official estimate of the geologic age of its principal feature, due to pressure from Bush administration appointees.
Furthermore, a book approved by the Service claiming the Grand Canyon was created by Noah's flood ,rather than by geologic forces, is on sale in the park for more than three years, even though
a review was promised to Congress and the press. A Freedom of Information request [PDF] reveals that no review has ever been requested, nor taken place.
"In order to avoid offending religious fundamentalists, our National Park Service is under orders to suspend its belief in geology," stated PEER Executive Director Jeff Ruch......

All three were heavily intoxicated, police Chief Frank Powers said.

By Jeremy Pelofsky
CRAWFORD, Texas (Reuters) - President Bush mourned the death of the 3,000th U.S. soldier in Iraq, the White House said on Sunday, but cautioned war-weary Americans that no quick end was in sight to the conflict.
Bush has been under pressure to change course in Iraq amid widespread public and political discontent. He is expected to unveil his new strategy, which could include sending more U.S. troops into battle, early next month.
"The president believes that every life is precious and grieves for each one that is lost," said White House spokesman Scott Stanzel. "He will ensure their sacrifice was not made in vain."
The Web site, www.icasualties.org, on Sunday listed the death of Spec. Dustin Donica on December 28 as previously unreported and said his death, together with that of a soldier killed by a roadside bomb in Baghdad on Saturday, brought the toll to 3,000..............

..........Bush, who is spending a weeklong holiday break at his Texas ranch, has been considering a range of options that includes a short-term increase in forces, but he has rejected the idea of a timetable for withdrawing the 134,000 troops now in Iraq............
