Armed guards hunt Were-rabbit of Mouldshaugh Lane

Sam Jones Friday April 7, 2006The Guardian
Martial law has been declared on a Northumberland allotment after a series of devastating nocturnal raids by a freakishly large and hungry rabbit.
The residents of the village of Felton believe the creature - which has feet as big as a dog's - bides its time in its burrow before emerging at night to plunder parsnips, spring carrots, leeks and onions at the allotments on Mouldshaugh Lane.
The proud vegetable-growers have become so angry at the animal's depredations that they have appointed two armed watchmen to guard the allotments at night. Both have orders to shoot the beast on sight........

RUN THUMPER RUN!

my dog would go wild over a bunny opponent his size!

hmm, maybe a live trap would suffice. The hiring of thugs seems abit overkill.

This bunny sounds like the bunnies out here. We have giant jackrabbits that eat our flowers and plants... maybe someone brought one over there?

It's not like it hurt anyone. They should leave it alone.

l o c and kathleen oh i'm NOT advocating hunting or killing the bunny by any means. i am an animal lover and a bit more (i have been known to be an activist on this front).

i thought the story funny. a giant rabbit on the loose. wreaking havoc wherever he goes.

remember the 'killer' swimmer rabbit and jimmy carter?

awwwwwwwwww rick, how lucky you have a hound from hell! i don't have one in my life at this time. i'm just not home enough and it wouldn't be fair. i DID just meet my friend's new hound. an italian greyhound named dante. he must weigh all of two or three pounds. he is SO DAMN TINY (but so damn cute). a friend has a pit bull named nero (hey, i don't know what's up with all of the italian named dogs i know) i get to see almost every day. that will have to do for now
