Although I'm sure the lady on the right will be fine, since I believe whalebone is more or less impervious to bullets, even at point-blank range...which, I believe, is the true purpose behind its adoption as a fashion article for ladies of quality, is it not?
that it is stray. i do not understand how they were worn - day after day. i have worn them and i do wear them from time to time. it is for a couple of hours here and there. one cannot breathe. one cannot do much of anything
