pee my pants yesterday.
i was flipping through some tv channels (i don't have a tv any longer, i was elsewhere....). i stopped at the hbo series listings. i came across the ricky gervais show. i immediately hit the guide button to see what was up. there was only the initial episode there (plus two shorts, about 3 or 4 minutes each). i watched them all. the first episode had me laughing so much, not only did it hurt, i dared not to move in case i became incontinent. i was HOWLING. literally
this isn't a scripted 'show'. it's ricky and his writing and producing partner stephen merchant talking to their xfm radio show producer karl pilkington (i think back in the day, someone randomly assigned karl to work with ricky and stephen. that's what i understand happened).
the hbo show stems from podcasts they did previously. i knew they existed, i just never listened to them. (in case you're wondering, i think ricky is one of the if not THE funniest person on this goddess' earth). i'm in the process of d/l them right now on itunes. i can't wait to listen.
really, if you have an iphone/ipod/itouch, LISTEN to them. if you have hbo, WATCH the series (oh, it's a cartoon but it's done from their real conversations).
