An Iraqi immigrant who fled the country after allegedly running over his 20-year-old daughter to punish her for becoming "too Westernized" and rebuffing the conservative ways he valued is in an Arizona jail today, facing assault charges.
The 10-day manhunt for Faleh Hassan Almaleki, 48, who fled from Peoria, Ariz., on Oct. 20, ended Friday when he was arrested by U.S. Marshalls in Atlanta after he arrived at the airport there, sent back to the country from London. ...........

this is so sad and makes me so mad... and it is going on much more than we know, isn't it? How can anyone murder a family member... I mean it's just so appalling you have to wonder at the kind of basic tenets that would encourage such actions... and we do, wonder over them. Then again, I am an animist. And I've read most of the Koran... I've not come upon the 'honor killing' ... but, monotheism promotes sacrifice, murder, seclusion, /// ok, I will go off on an even larger misogamy bitchfest tangent....
