this is rather cool

and i do watch iron chef america. i think some of the judges (not mentioning any names) are rather hard on the challenging chefs while going a bit easy on the iron chefs (i guess they want to continue to enjoy being served in the iron chef's restaurants. i believe all five current iron chefs have their own restaurants). since i can't actually taste the food from the chair i'm sitting in whilst watching, i can't say with 100% certainty it's happening. (but it IS)

it's an ap article. so i'll have to tell you, the chefs will be bobby flay and Cristeta Comerford who is the white house chef against mario batali and emeril lagasse.

they'll get what they can from the white house gardens and tote it back to 'kitchen stadium' in nyc.

it should be very interesting.

Four chefs will use Michelle Obama’s garden as their culinary battlefield

I saw this show once while toiling away in a hospital waiting room. It looked pretty entertaining.

Being a vegan, Does it bother you to see them chop up animals?

It is hard to totally love this show after being seduced by the original Japanese version.

lemmy it is VERY entertaining.

it does bother me to see them or anyone chop up an animal but i also know that most people do such things and most people are fine with it. i don't understand being fine with it, but it's not something i chose to argue over. well i don't start any arguments over it. if one is started, i'll jump in.

cal is correct though. the japanese version is MUCH better. if you care to see either of them lemmy, they're both still on. the american version is on food network and i don't know what the japanese version is on, but it's something like bravo i think.

i'll take this opportunity to say i HATE the bobby flay show where he challenges people who make their living at cooking a particular thing (pizza or donuts or dim sum or whatever). i hate it when he wins. hate hate hate it. it's rare when he does win, but it's nasty. he has a whole food network kitchen, the BEST ingredients money can buy at his disposal AND an entire staff (even though they only show the two other babes with him). it's NASTY AND I DON'T LIKE IT
