you can't judge a book by it's cover

for sure. holy shite look at this dude's picture and then read what he's accused of (he has NOT been convicted mind you)

see we're ALL prejudiced (i've always said that. no matter what we say ALL of us, every single one of us has pre conceived notions of what other people are, should be, were, or are going to be. i'm unlike others. i admit it)

US charges seven with terrorism

Seven people in the US state of North Carolina have been charged with plotting terror attacks abroad, including Israel and Jordan.

Prosecutors say the alleged ringleader Daniel Boyd, 39, trained in Afghanistan and fought there between 1989 and 1992.

They say he then set up his own training and fundraising organisation, and even recruited his two sons.

The seven are accused of conspiring to kill, kidnap and maim but not of carrying out actual attacks.

There has been no reported response from the defendants.

Mr Boyd lived in a lakeside home near Raleigh, North Carolina, from where he ran a dry-stone walling business.

His sons, aged 20 and 22, are among those charged.

'Military practice'

The indictment says Mr Boyd is a veteran of training camps for militants in Pakistan and Afghanistan............

Daniel Boyd, Six Others In North Carolina, Charged With Terror Conspiracy

MIKE BAKER

RALEIGH, N.C. — A father, his two sons and four other North Carolina men are accused of military-style training at home and plotting "violent jihad" through a series of terror attacks abroad, federal authorities said Monday.

Officials said the group was led by Daniel Patrick Boyd, a married 39-year-old who lived in an unassuming lakeside home in a rural area south of Raleigh, where he and his family walked their dog and operated a drywall business. But two decades ago, Boyd, who is a U.S. citizen, trained in terrorist camps in Pakistan and Afghanistan and fought against the Soviets for three years before returning to the United States.

An indictment released Monday does not detail any specific terrorist plans or targets overseas, although it claims some of the defendants traveled to Israel in 2007 with the intent of waging "violent jihad" and returned home without success................

Oh never judge a book by it's cover...never never never!

I was always told to beware of men who spend more time in a mirror that I do. And beware the quiet ones.

Well, speaking from the vantage point of c. 1986, when there was a certain amount of fundraising for the mujahedeen going on in suburban CT...

hmmmmmmmmmm. unaware of that. i don't doubt it. i think people contribute to causes - when they have NO idea where the money is actually going
