hawaii isn't a state? a presidential candidate can't visit his boyhood home without a fuss? a presidential candidate cannot visit his grandmother without a newscaster complaining? south carolina is a BETTER state than hawaii......because??????????????

From ABC's This Week on 8/10/08. Cokie Roberts: '...I know his grandmother lives in Hawaii and I know Hawaii is a state, but it has the look of him going off to some sort of foreign, exotic place. He should be at Myrtle Beach if he’s going to take a vacation at this time. I just think this is not the time to do that.'


While Cokie gives her best impression of a concerned objective observer(*cough*cough)...it's clear that she is trying a new spin on the 'Obama is an elitist' meme.

No mention of the fact that John McCain doesn't work weekends at all, and is no doubt relaxing with his young heiress wife in one of their at least seven homes, that they can easily get to in one of Cindy McCain's corporate jets................
