i cannot say that this happened

because it has only been alleged and NOT proven. i CAN say i would not be shocked if it were true. i CAN say i believe people LIKE prince (i don't know him i only know OF him and his type. so once again i'm not alleging or saying he's this way. i'm just saying it would certainly be within the realm of possibility) think iraqis are heathens and it's ok if they get used as prostitutes. they would think they are LESS THAN A HUMAN BEING. do i think some contractors (i'm talking the whole scope of contractors not just blackwater) are murderers, rapists, torturers, eager to kill? hell YES i do (as i do about some members of the military).

Ex-employees claim Blackwater pimped out young Iraqi girls

Since the revelation earlier this week of allegations by two former employees of security firm Blackwater that its owner was complicit in murder in order to cover up the deliberate killing of Iraqi civilians, explosive charges have continued to emerge.

Perhaps the most shocking of those charges — quoted by MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann on Thursday from the employees’ sworn declarations — is that Blackwater was guilty of using child prostitutes at its compound in Baghdad’s fortified Green Zone and that owner Erik Prince knew of this activity and did nothing to stop it.

The declarations describe Blackwater as “having young girls provide oral sex to Enterprise members in the ‘Blackwater Man Camp’ in exchange for one American dollar.” They add even though Prince frequently visited this camp, he “failed to stop the ongoing use of prostitutes, including child prostitutes, by his men.”...............

i don't get it

i don't get why prostitution? i don't get it. is it for sex? i don't think that's completely it. is it because they (think they) are in control? they think they call all of the shots? i think it's a combo of the sex and the calling of shots. BUT i still don't get it.

Remember the scene in the movie "The Untouchables" where Al Capone, as played by Robert DeNiro, brutally murders a lackey with a baseball bat in order to prove a point?
For Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman, the scene was obviously how he views the real world.
"I have no use for him. I'll take a baseball bat and break his head if he ever comes here," Goodman said of New York Times columnist Bob Herbert, after Herbert's column "City as Predator."
The point the mayor wanted to prove? That if some N.Y. columnist wanted to shine a light on the sex trade and prostitution business of Las Vegas, he'd murder them with a baseball bat.
But the sex trade and prostitution business of Las Vegas desperately needs a light shined on it, and Herbert did a fine job of doing just that.
"City as Predator"
There is probably no city in America where women are treated worse than in Las Vegas.
The tone of systematic, institutionalized degradation is set by the mayor, Oscar Goodman, who told me in an interview that the city would reap "tremendous" benefits if a series of "magnificent brothels" could be established to cater to johns from across the country and around the world.
"I've said there should be the beginning of a discussion of that," said Mr. Goodman, a former defense lawyer for mobsters who unabashedly describes his city as an adult playground where "anything goes -- as long as you don't go over the line."

A former client of the woman accused of being the D.C. madam is trying to block his name from being aired on an ABC News program about her escort business and the men who patronized it, saying publicity would amount to witness intimidation, ABC said yesterday.
In a letter to ABC, Steven Salky, the man's attorney, wrote that he has "reason to believe" that his client could be named tomorrow in a "20/20" report about an alleged prostitution ring run by Deborah Jeane Palfrey, ABC said. Salky would not identify the man..........

and i should have known. i WAS going to make a comment on the story i posted yesterday (on mr tobias) how he must be some religious right-wing nut since he was an appointment of king george's (for countries and organizations to receive funding for AIDS issues - can you imagine) BUT i didn't because i knew very little about the man.

of course he IS some sort of religious dipshite (i am NOT making light of religion, i'm making light of people who are idiots ABOUT religion) using their god(s) for their (the man NOT the god) own purposes. makes me sick. oh when i was driving home from work the other day, i had npr on. they had a guest on, someone who had formed a network (like myspace but it wasn't myspace) for people to share info and 'meet' and things of that nature. the host and guest were talking about technology and socialization and civilization. they took a few calls. the third call in was some 'christian' (i use that term loosely. VERY loosely), who claimed the use of the internet was documented in the bible and how, due to our use of the internet we are VERY close to the end of time. the rapture.

Official Caught Using Escort Service Demanded Anti-Prostitution ‘Loyalty Oaths’

Former U.S. AID director Randall Tobias, who resigned yesterday upon admitting that he frequented a Washington escort service, oversaw a controversial policy advocated by the religious right that required any US-based group receiving anti-AIDS funds to take an anti-prostitution “loyalty oath.”
Aid groups bitterly opposed the policy, charging that it “was so broad — and applied even to their private funds — that it would obstruct their outreach to sex workers who are at high risk of transmitting the AIDS virus.” But President Bush wouldn’t budge. He signed a 2003 National Security Presidential Directive saying prostitution “and related activities” were “inherently harmful and dehumanizing.”
Several groups and countries had their funding cut due to the policy. Brazil lost $40 million for “one of its most successful anti-AIDS strategies, persuading sex workers to use condoms or other measures to stop spreading the disease.”.................
