i don't get it

i don't get why prostitution? i don't get it. is it for sex? i don't think that's completely it. is it because they (think they) are in control? they think they call all of the shots? i think it's a combo of the sex and the calling of shots. BUT i still don't get it.
money, power and a penis? please don't say you're one thing and be another ESPECIALLY if you're in public service. we WILL find out.

Spitzer Linked To Prostitution Ring by Wiretap
N.Y. Governor Apologizes for 'Private Matter,' Does Not Resign

By Keith B. Richburg Washington Post Staff Writer
New York Gov. Eliot L. Spitzer's political future was thrown in doubt yesterday after he was identified as an anonymous client heard on a federal wiretap arranging to pay money and buy train tickets for a high-priced New York prostitute to meet him at a downtown Washington hotel. A person familiar with the case said Spitzer was one of the unnamed clients of a New York area prostitution ring mentioned in federal court documents unsealed last week. Spitzer, a rising star in the Democratic Party who has been in office for 14 months, did not directly address the allegations in a hastily called news conference, and he made no mention of resigning. But as he dropped from public view, canceling all of his planned events, his political career seemed in limbo last night amid speculation that he was preparing to step down. ..........

He's a hypocrite. It's that simple. He should resign.

As to the prostitution - I don't think it's a criminal matter. So long as the woman or the man aren't being forced to do it, and they aren't minors, then I just don't care. We've got bigger fish to fry than morality crimes.

i have no issues with him and the ho-hos. i DO have issues with him prosecuting ho-ho rings in the past. (as an aside, i used to think prostitution was a 'victimless crime'. i no longer think that way. i STILL don't think it should be illegal though).

npr had some great talk on about this, this afternoon. i listed for a short while on my way home from work. everyone agreed eliot was one mean mother in the courts
