Which all makes perfect sense if the "threat to national security" in question was the possibility of losing the election. Doesn't it seem like he wants to say it, but the spin demon that possesses him is too powerful?
Anyway, whenever they announce "Orange Alert" I think fondly of that big white balloon from "The Prisoner".
Hats off to Rachel Maddow for pinning Ridge down in contradiction as she did. She and Keith Olbermann are proving to be badly needed resurrections of what has become a lost art: investigative journalism.
