i would even think if one had a used laptop that was in GOOD working condition, one could go to their local va hospital (call first) and donate it for the benefit of the veterans

Mom Donates Laptops to Wounded Soldiers

By MARY CLARE JALONICK The Associated Press Saturday, March 24, 2007; 7:42 PM
WASHINGTON -- Laura Brown, a mother with a son who fought in the Iraq war, is trying to improve conditions at Walter Reed Army Medical Center _ one laptop computer at a time.
The 50-year-old from Cody, Wyo., was chatting on the Internet with the mother of a wounded soldier two years ago when the mother mentioned she had to print out her son's e-mails and take them to him at Walter Reed because there weren't enough laptop computers to go around..........

You're right as usual, Rose. This is a fantastic idea.

There are some good people still left in this country.

well rick, i can't take credit for the idea. i too think it's a good one. ANYTHING we can do for our returning vets (and those who served at other times as well) is a GOOD idea

Hey Rose & Rick - Thanks so much for your thoughts & continued inspiration for our org. The AP story caused a real explosion of exposure and interest clear across the nation - and international support!!! We have several other military hospitals asking for assistance with their own needs in this area and we are limited with what we can do simply due to $$ flow...but we continue to squeeze as much out of each $$ as we can! I really am happy that a half-sane madwoman (I'm the other half of that half-sane madwoman - we DEFINITELY have something in common... LOL!!)found it a project worthy of your blog site!!!!

Peace!!! Laura Brown Founder/Dir

thanks so much for stopping by laura. it's people like you that make me smile, make me continue to believe humankind is good

rick is a veteran i am not. i have my very strong opinions and shoot my mouth off at the drop of a hat. yet i need our veterans, injured on the outside or inside or not at all and all of our active troops to know how much we all appreciate their service. i do tiny things (such as soldiers angels) but YOU do BIG things. you make a difference in lives every day. i thank our troops AND i thank you!
