Ah Rose, you give the guy too much credit by characterizing what that cretin said as a "thought pattern". I wonder if that dumbass came to this conclusion on his own. He must've been quite proud of his logical prowess. Barf.

you know i really don't understand why some fear and hate gays so much. is it because they are afraid for their OWN selves? i don't mean afraid of getting hurt, i mean afraid THEY may really be gay.

that is the ONLY thing i can think of

Your honey Maynard said that homophobes are afraid of gays--and have every right to be--as they are the next step in our evolution. Dunno quite what that means, but it's funny nevertheless.

I don't know where it comes from either if I had to take stock in one answer. But it's a double-standard because lesbians are just fine for the most part (I can explain that though).

I think it's mostly straight up machismo, which, when introduced to a prison population, the machismo is translated into something quite different...

It's entirely cultural though. While I wouldn't claim that gays aren't treated differently in every society I'm aware of, there certainly aren't hate crimes everywhere--just in monotheistic traditions. Aha!

Ah--that "just in" part was too strong, actually. Let's make it safer and say "state based societies".

i didn't know maynard said that. it IS rather funny!

lesbians are indeed MORE accepted but certainly NOT accepted all of the way or by all of the population. of course it is only CERTAIN lesbians (or bisexuals) that are thought of in a fantasy way.
