more stories of paranoia

and lunacy. i don't get it. things are really NOT TOO very much different under the new administration. sure, a tiny bit better (i had hoped for a LOT better). no one is coming to take your guns away or trying to put you in a concentration camp or attempting to rename the capital obamagrad. no one is going to give you an abortion UNLESS YOU REQUEST ONE (and even then in many parts of the country it's next to impossible) or make you marry a gay (unless you're another gay and WANT TO MARRY her/him - BUT only in a handful of states). no one is going to secretly wire tap you without a warrant oh wait, that's already been done...........

anyway you paranoid asshole soul-less racist stupid piles o' shite, WAKE THE FUCK UP

Paranoid Right-Wingers See Obama's Volunteer Service Project as Sinister Plot to 'Re-Educate' Americans
By Alexander Zaitchik, AlterNet.

The far right has seen the fresh face of fascism, and it looks like the civic-minded legislative love child of Sens. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., and Orrin Hatch, R-Utah.

Most Americans applauded last month when the Senate voted across party lines to expand national-service opportunities. How could you not? The Serve America Act, which passed easily 78-20, invests $5 billion in volunteer corps focused on education, clean energy, health care and veteran issues. In a symbolic but meaningful gesture, the bill also designates Sept. 11 as a National Day of Service, thus expanding a post-9/11 concept of patriotism previously limited to dying in Iraq and shopping at JC Penny.

The Service Act will help millions of people learn to read, go to college, stay warm and connect with their fellow citizens. Upon passage, it was immediately hailed by 9/11 survivor organizations, literacy advocates, veterans groups and the AARP.

But not everyone feels warm and fuzzy about the bill whose House version was dubbed the GIVE Act. Among readers of WorldNetDaily and other sites that bridge mainstream conservatism and the lunatic fringe, the biggest question was whether President Barack Obama had shape-shifted from Stalin into Hitler, or had morphed into some grotesque dictatorial hybrid unique to history..........

human rights?

what are they? i seem to have forgotten in the PAST EIGHT LONG HARD YEARS

(now ask yourself, how could anyone be AGAINST human rights?)

U.S. to Join U.N. Human Rights Council, Reversing Bush Policy
Washington Post Staff Writer

UNITED NATIONS, March 31 -- The Obama administration decided Tuesday to seek a seat on the U.N. Human Rights Council, reversing a decision by the Bush administration to shun the United Nations' premier rights body to protest the influence of repressive states.

"Human rights are an essential element of American global foreign policy," Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said in a statement. "With others, we will engage in the work of improving the U.N. human rights system. . . . We believe every nation must live by and help shape global rules that ensure people enjoy the right to live freely and participate fully in their societies."

The United States announced it would participate in elections in May for one of three seats on the 47-member council, joining a slate that includes Belgium and Norway........

i have posted about

chiquita many times in the past. this disturbs me a GREAT DEAL

remember, chiquita SUPPORTED TERRORISTS (terrorists who KILLED other people.) remember, chiquita got a SLAP ON THE WRIST

no, my second disagreement with barack obama is eric holder.

Obama goes Bananas...

Apparently, Eric Holder has been nominated as US AG in the Obama administration. This is a sad choice, when so many far more capable people, who don't represent corporate terrorism, should have been considered instead. Holder accepted Obama's offer today.

We all know that Holder helped pardon Marc Rich and after, feeling so badly about it, declared he was done with public service for good.

What bothers me more about Holder is his most recent client, Chiquita Brands, which paid right-wing terrorists and death-squads in Columbia off as part of a protection racket. Chiquita settled with the US government for this and other ongoing human rights violations. Apparently feeling so guilty after the Rich pardon - so much so, that Holder contemplated never going into public service again - he instead represented a corporation funding terrorists in order to turn a buck. Nice, eh?.......

i believe terrorists and criminals

must pay for their actions. i believe in our united states constitution and our united states laws. i believe our civilian and our military law enforcement systems do NOT have the right to torture prisoners. i believe a person must be charged with a crime in order to be in prison. i believe a person should KNOW their charges. i believe we must have evidence in order to charge someone with a crime. i believe all those who are charged with a crime have the right to legal defense AND A TRIAL.
i believe it's illegal to spy on the citizens of the united states of america without a proper warrant.

can barack obama undo all the unjust and illegal things king george and his court did? most likely not but they can sure try. oh, and it seems like they ARE going to try

Guantanamo Closure Called Obama Priority
By Peter Finn
Washington Post Staff Writer
The Obama administration will launch a review of the classified files of the approximately 250 detainees at Guantanamo Bay immediately after taking office, as part of an intensive effort to close the U.S. prison in Cuba, according to people who advised the campaign on detainee issues.
Announcing the closure of the controversial detention facility would be among the most potent signals the incoming administration could send of its sharp break with the Bush era, according to the advisers, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to speak for the president-elect. They believe the move would create a global wave of diplomatic and popular goodwill that could accelerate the transfer of some detainees to other countries. ..........
