unlike da liebs

i KNOW what a pdf is (Lieberman doesn’t know what a PDF is?, hat tip to colin mcenroe for that one. i would have NEVER known that about da liebs otherwise)

but this isn't really about da liebs (steamin' pile o' shite that he is). it's about ANOTHER giant steamin' pile o' shite (well two of 'em; king george and kbr)

a handful of men get brought to trial for (allegedly) killing civilians in iraq. what about all of the (alleged) rapes and OTHER (alleged) murders and (alleged) corruption and (alleged) horrid operational procedures?

hmmmmmmmmm

we'll never know. the big boyz at the top are NEVER going to be held accountable. only a few lowly pawns get thrown under the bus (to appease the masses ?????????????? well I'M NOT appeased)

ACLU: 'Secret courts' conceal fraud by military contractors
Muriel Kane
A law originally intended to encourage whistleblowers may have been used by the Bush Justice Department to cover up allegations of fraud by contractors such as Halliburton spin-off KBR.

In 2007, David Rose's "The People vs. the Profiteers" described a "scandal of epic proportions" involving the alleged suppression of dozens of lawsuits against KBR for alleged massive fraud in Iraq.

Those and similar charges are the basis for a complaint (pdf) filed on Thursday by the American Civil Liberties Union and the ACLU of Virginia, which alleges that secrecy provisions added to the False Claims Act (FCA) in 1986 have been used to keep complaints under seal indefinitely and gag whistleblowers who might otherwise speak out.

i've said this out loud to my friends

and i've written it in comments on other's blogs and who knows, i may have even said it here. i don't remember and i'm too tired (and lazy) to look.

i try to be a nice person (contrary to popular belief). i'm italian and it's hard to forgive and forget. we tend to hold grudges (sure it's a stereotype BUT IT'S TRUE and you ALL know it). i'll forgive and forget a lot of what went down during this campaign. i won't forgive but i WILL forget about michele bachmann. she is just a blathering pile. she's meaningless. there are TWO I WILL NEVER FORGIVE NOR FORGET.

one is da liebs. he's a piece of steamin' shite. he all but called for the head of our president elect barack obama on a plate. i will fight with ALL of my might to make sure his career in politics is ended as soon as possible. i'm serious about that. i'm a connecticut native and it's PERSONAL

six pack, uninformed, naive, not well read, fake-folksy, homophobic, and the OTHER one is sarevil. sure, she's an empty headed, talking in tongues, anything BUT joeabstinence-spouting, neiman marcus clothes-whoring, $22,000 make-up wearing, killing wolves from helicopters, charging rape victims for rape kits, wanting to force women to bear children of incest, designer glass wearing, disease riddled soul(less) attempt at a human being BUT she was dangerous because she had an audience. what did she do with that audience (sure it was an audience of those that felt 'that way' PRIOR to sarevil BUT.....). why she whipped them up to a frenzy. a frenzy of wanting to separate america into two parts (tell me how THAT isn't terroristic or anti-american why don't cha). a frenzy of people dying to chant the "n" word. a frenzy of people who were getting serious wood thinking about forming lynch mobs. a frenzy of stirring the pot so much these people (who, again, i think were ALREADY on the edge) would have gone out with their guns and started shooting people who had obama signs on their lawns. sarevil NEVER said the 'n' word but it's in her heart. that's what she was doing. trying to separate, tear america apart. that to me is UNFORGIVABLE

Secret Service: Sarah Palin's Rhetoric Led to Spike in Death Threats Against Obama
Posted by Joshua Holland, AlterNet

The Telegraph:

Sarah Palin's attacks on Barack Obama's patriotism provoked a spike in death threats against the future president, Secret Service agents revealed during the final weeks of the campaign.
The attacks provoked a near lynch mob atmosphere at her rallies, with supporters yelling "terrorist" and "kill him" until the McCain campaign ordered her to tone down the rhetoric.
But it has now emerged that her demagogic tone may have unintentionally encouraged white supremacists to go even further.
The Secret Service warned the Obama family in mid October that they had seen a dramatic increase in the number of threats against the Democratic candidate, coinciding with Mrs Palin's attacks.
Michelle Obama, the future First Lady, was so upset that she turned to her friend and campaign adviser Valerie Jarrett and said: "Why would they try to make people hate us?"

Because they're assholes, Michelle. They're assholes who had nothing else on which to run...........

Lieberman: McCain 'important' to financial deal
Sen. Joseph Lieberman said Sunday that Republican presidential candidate John McCain's decision to come off the campaign trail and return to Washington was instrumental to the bipartisan compromise addressing the financial crisis that was forged over the weekend.

Lieberman, the Connecticut independent and 2000 Democratic vice presidential candidate, said McCain showed "characteristic guts" in making the decision to temporarily suspend his campaign last week as Congress contemplated a $700 billion bailout plan for Wall Street.
"I honestly don't think that this would had have happened as timely as it did if Sen. McCain had not come back and been a bridgebuilder," Lieberman said to reporters on a conference call Sunday afternoon.

Democrats have blasted McCain's involvement on Capitol Hill, attacking the Arizona Republican for injecting presidential politics into tense negotiations.

Experts Helping Palin Brush Up on Foreign Policy

Washington Post Staff Writers
ST. PAUL, Minn., Sept. 4 -- Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman is among several national security experts helping brief Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin on foreign policy issues as she prepares to hit the campaign trail while cramming for a debate with her Democratic opponent, Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr. (Del.), in less than a month, according to officials from Sen. John McCain's campaign.
Lieberman, who was the 2000 Democratic vice presidential nominee but is now an independent, has helped introduce Palin to officials of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, the leading pro-Israel lobby. In a meeting Tuesday, the day before she delivered her prime-time address at the Republican National Convention here, Palin assured the group of her strong support for Israel, of her desire to see the United States move its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and of her opposition to Iran's aspirations to become a nuclear power, according to sources familiar with the meeting. ...........

Joe Lieberman, the Democratic vice presidential prick in 2000 who now is an independent.".............

Lieberman: Obama prepared to accept defeat in Iraq

Fox's Chris Wallace talked to Sen. Joe Lieberman and Sen. Evan Bayh about Sen. Barack Obama's plan to withdraw troops from Iraq. Lieberman described Obama's plan as "retreat and defeat."

Lieberman said, "If Barack Obama's policy in Iraq had been implemented, he couldn't be in Iraq today, he was prepared to accept retreat and defeat and that would mean today al Qaeda would be in charge of parts of Iraq, Iranian-backed extremists would be in charge of other parts of Iraq. There'd be civil war and maybe even genocide.".....

so he's part homosexual and part jewish

wouldn't the antichrist be a woman? lesbian? black? puerto rican?

this shitebag STILL has people listening to him. the sermon is from 2003, but it doesn't matter if it was yesterday or is today. people still flock. they're shitebags too as far as i'm concerned (video at the link below. the other day i also wrote about da liebs who is going to be speaking at some hagee hoedown. someone really OUGHT to tell da liebs, hagee thinks he's the anti-christ. i TRIED to tell da liebs. he just didn't listen)

On March 16, 2003, on the eve of the United States' invasion of Iraq, Pastor John Hagee took to the pulpit to warn of the coming Antichrist. In his sermon, "The Final Dictator," Hagee described the Antichrist as a seductive figure with "fierce features." He will be "a blasphemer and a homosexual," the pastor announced. Then, Hagee boomed, "There's a phrase in Scripture used solely to identify the Jewish people. It suggests that this man [the Antichrist] is at least going to be partially Jewish, as was Adolph Hitler, as was Karl Marx."
This "fierce" gay Jew, according to Hagee, would "slaughter one-third of the Earth's population" and "make Adolph Hitler look like a choirboy.".........

perhaps these dudes

Prominent neoconservative site goes under.»

Eleven years ago, the neoconservative Project for a New American Century (PNAC) set out its statement of principles advocating the overthrow of Saddam Hussein, putting the country on the road to a preventative invasion of Iraq. Signatories included future Iraq war architects Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, Paul Wolfowitz, and Elliott Abrams, as well as neoconservatives like Bill Kristol and Robert Kagan. From PNAC’s statement of foreign policy goals:

The history of the 20th century should have taught us that it is important to shape circumstances before crises emerge, and to meet threats before they become dire.

But just as the neocons are attempting to run from responsibility for the Iraq war, it appears PNAC may be abandoning its own website. Here’s the message that greets visitors to PNAC’s site:

hey da liebs

there are PLENTY of countries and people (take saudia arabia for instance. take libya for instance . take your best bud king george for instance.) who are responsible for the deaths of americans. why aren't you bombing THEM i must ask myself?
Lieberman 'hopes' Iran is aware US airstrikes are 'distinct possibility'
David Edwards and Muriel Kane
After General David Petraeus testified before the Senate Armed Services Committee in April, conservative pundit Pat Buchanan
warned that "the neocons may yet get their war on Iran."
Buchanan particularly singled out Petraeus's agreement with Sen. Joseph Lieberman (I-CT) when he suggested, "Is it fair to say that the Iranian-backed special groups in Iraq are responsible for the murder of hundreds of American soldiers and thousands of Iraqi soldiers and civilians?"
When Lieberman appeared on MSNBC's Morning Joe on Monday, Buchanan reminded him of that question and asked, "Do you believe that the United States should conduct air strikes on the al-Quds force in Iran if they do not stop this, and do you expect President Bush to do something like that?"
"I hope we don't have to get to the point of moving in any way into Iran to strike at the base of the people who are responsible for killing Americans," Lieberman replied. "But I hope that the Quds Force and the Iranian government has in mind that that is a distinct possibility.".............

US Senator 'reassured' on Pakistan nukes
A US senator who met President Pervez Musharraf Wednesday said he felt reassured about the safety of Pakistan's nuclear weapons, and called for upcoming elections to be "fair and credible."
Senator Joe Lieberman said he had received a "detailed and explicit" briefing by Pakistan's military leadership on the security of the US ally's atomic arsenal.
"I was impressed by the specific explanation I had about the system that is in place here," Lieberman told reporters after the meeting, on a visit planned before the December 27 assassination of former premier Benazir Bhutto.
"There are some who have expressed concerns about the security of the Pakistani nuclear arsenal," he said, referring to doubts expressed by the head of the UN nuclear watchdog and others in recent days.
"Overall I felt reassured... and I will take that message back to Congress," he added.............

you should all be SO effing ashamed

yes, you king george. your court. da liebs, EVERYONE who was responsible for sending our men and women to fight in that unjust illegal and immoral war. as if THAT weren't bad enough (and of course it IS bad enough), IT JUST GETS WORSE. our returning heroes aren't getting the treatment they not only need but deserve. AND KING GEORGE DOESN'T CARE. when will the people on the other side of the fence see that? is money what makes the difference? do you not care about our returning service men and women who are injured (outside as WELL as in)? i can't understand why this is happening. why WE allow it to happen. where is our collective voice? HELP them and do it NOW

to sgt. darren mischke, thank you for serving and i am so very sorry for your treatment. for the family and friends of sgt. mischke, NEVER give up. there ARE people who care. it may not seem like it but i do and i know many others who do as well

Treatment for Vets' Brain Injuries Should Be a No-Brainer
by: Jim Spencer

There is no question that Sgt. Darren Mischke is a wounded warrior. After two tours in Iraq, the 27-year-old Army vet suffers from nosebleeds, memory loss, mood swings, dizziness, blurred vision and severe headaches.
Only instead of treating him for what are classic symptoms of traumatic brain injury - or TBI - Mischke's wife and father say the U.S. military has tried to force him from the service for domestic abuse.
Jim Spencer :: Treatment for Vets' Brain Injuries Should Be a No-Brainer
"He'd be out of the service if his wife hadn't fought for him," Tom Mischke said of his son.
Darren Mischke got knocked out in a wreck during his first tour in Iraq, said his wife, Teresa. He was riding on the turret of a military vehicle that got hit by a mortar in his second tour......

.......But even after Salazar succeeded in getting the extra 900 grand for brain trauma treatment into the Labor-Health and Human Services Appropriations Act, President Bush vetoed the bill.
The president wasn't aiming at TBI programs so much as overall spending. Still, as Salazar noted, "this is not the time to pull back on traumatic brain injury research and treatment."........

........On Nov. 5, almost a year after he returned from Iraq, a special scan finally showed his brain trauma, Mischke's wife and father said, yet discharge procedures continue.
For anyone who still needs to put a face on this country's failure to help its brain-injured vets, a portrait of the sergeant would work just fine. ........

Lieberman blames Iran for Iraq attacks, asks if invasion should be authorized

Nick Juliano
Update: Lieberman asks if Iraq war should be expanded 'in Iranian territory'Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman, who is among the Senate's fiercest hawks, blamed Iran for the deaths of "hundreds of American troops," and claimed the US has evidence that Iran is training insurgents outside Tehran before sending them to Iraq. He asked whether the US should expand its invasion into Iran."Is it time to give you authority, in pursuit of your mission in Iraq, to pursue those Iranian Quds Force operations in Iranian territory, in order to protect Americas troops in Iraq," Lieberman (I-CT) asked at a hearing of the Senate Armed Services Committee.......

Gen. Rorschach and the Iraq-Shaped Inkblot

By Dana Milbank
Which of the following best characterizes the situation in Iraq?
a. Impressive, effective and satisfactory?

b. Worrisome, alarming and weak?
If you chose (a), congratulations -- you are supported by Gen.
James Jones and his commission studying security in Iraq. And if you chose (b), well, you are also supported by Jones and his commission, who presented their report to the Senate Armed Services Committee yesterday.
"Our overall evaluation is that real progress has been achieved," Jones told the senators, and then he qualified that judgment with words such as "uneven," "unsatisfactory," "overly sectarian" and "failed."........

Sen. Lieberman talks about progress in Iraq

By Chief Political Correspondent Mark Davis
......................"To me there's some significant progress happening in Iraq militarily. Al-Qaeda is on the run, Sunni tribal leaders have become our allies, death caused by sectarian assassination in Baghdad has gone down more than 50 percent," Sen. Lieberman said.Lieberman says he's frustrated by the limited progress made by the Maliki government but does not favor pushing him out."It is a choice that we have now in Iraq between this elected government struggling to make its way forward on the one hand and Al-Qaeda and Iran on the other hand.Lieberman is suggesting the U.S. should push for new provincial elections instead of trying to oust the current Iraqi government."The Sunni's, who boycotted the last election, are ready to come out again. Rapture Ready: The Unauthorized Christians United for Israel Tour

-max bluementhal

On July 16, I attended Christians United for Israel's annual Washington-Israel Summit. Founded by San Antonio-based megachurch pastor John Hagee, CUFI has added the grassroots muscle of the Christian right to the already potent Israel lobby. Hagee and his minions have forged close ties with the Bush White House and members of Congress from Sen. Joseph Lieberman to Sen. John McCain. In its call for a unilateral military attack on Iran and the expansion of Israeli territory, CUFI has found unwavering encouragement from traditional pro-Israel groups like AIPAC and elements of the Israeli government.
But CUFI has an ulterior agenda: its support for Israel derives from the belief of Hagee and his flock that Jesus will return to Jerusalem after the battle of Armageddon and cleanse the earth of evil. In the end, all the non-believers - Jews, Muslims, Hindus, mainline Christians, etc. - must convert or suffer the torture of eternal damnation. Over a dozen CUFI members eagerly revealed to me their excitement at the prospect of Armageddon occurring tomorrow. Among the rapture ready was Republican Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay. None of this seemed to matter to Lieberman, who delivered a long sermon hailing Hagee as nothing less than a modern-day Moses. Lieberman went on to describe Hagee's flock as "even greater than the multitude Moses commanded." ..............

Lieberman: Iran has declared war on the US

Josh Catone

Following a statement issued by the American Forces Press Service accusing Iran's Quds Force of "training, funding and arming the Iraqi groups," as well as Hezbollah operatives in Iraq, Senator Joseph Lieberman (I-CT) released a statement saying that Iran has declared war on America.
"Although no one desires a conflict with Iran, the fact is that the Iranian government by its actions has declared war on us," Lieberman wrote, while urging the United States to keep "open the possibility of using military force against the terrorist infrastructure inside Iran.".........

Lieberman: Iran Has Declared War

By DAVID LIGHTMAN Washington Bureau Chief, The Hartford Courant

S. troops.Withdrawing U.S. troops from Iraq at this time, he added, "will give Iranians exactly what they want most" -- an "epic victory" for forces of terrorism."Iran's purpose in sponsoring these attacks against our soldiers is clear," he said. Lieberman calls for wider use of surveillance cameras

By Klaus Marre
July 01, 2007
Sen. Joe Lieberman (D-Conn.), the chairman of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, said Sunday he wants to “more widely” use surveillance cameras across the country.
“The Brits have got something smart going in England, and it was part of why I believe they were able to so quickly apprehend suspects in the terrorist acts over the weekend, and that is they have cameras all over London and other of their major cities,” Lieberman said.“I think it’s just common sense to do that here much more widely,” he added. “And of course, we can do it without compromising anybody’s real privacy.”Lieberman lamented the “petty, partisan fighting” in Congress and called on his colleagues to join together to upgrade the nation’s electronic surveillance capabilities............

Lieberman talks to troops in Baghdad

By Leila Fadel
McClatchy Newspapers

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Spc. David Williams, 22, of Boston, Mass., had two note cards in his pocket Wednesday afternoon as he waited for Sen. Joseph Lieberman. Williams serves in the 82nd Airborne Division from Fort Bragg, N.C., the first of the five "surge" brigades to arrive in Iraq, and he was chosen to join the Independent from Connecticut for lunch at a U.S. field base in Baghdad.
The night before, 30 other soldiers crowded around him with questions for the senator.
He wrote them all down. At the top of his note card was the question he got from nearly every one of his fellow soldiers:
"When are we going to get out of here?"
The rest was a laundry list. When would they have upgraded Humvees that could withstand the armor-penetrating weapons that U.S. officials claim are from Iran? When could they have body armor that was better in hot weather? .............
