we all know i'm NOT going to patronize

the marriott

another hotel to the list

now i'm going to add Hyatt hotel fires entire housekeeping team and outsources

They could get jobs on Wall Street or as lobbyists with this kind of sneaky trick. There are plenty of business hotels to choose from so keep this horrible story in mind the next time you book.

Several hundred hotel workers and their supporters turned out yesterday for a raucous rally in front of the Hyatt Regency Boston for the 100 housekeepers who were fired by the hotel chain. Politicians called for businesses to boycott the Hyatt, and workers banged on drums, rattled detergent bottles filled with rocks, and chanted “Hyatt, shame on you’’ as they marched in front of the hotel with picket signs.

shouldn't they be worrying about themselves?

instead of spending money trying to bring someone else DOWN, shouldn't they be spending their money trying to promote one of their own? goddess knows they are NOT going to be spending THEIR money helping those in need

GOP's 'Obama card' is unintentionally hilarious
-- Stephen C. Webster

This may be the worst online political ad ever conceived.

The "Obama card" campaign, found here, was launched on Thursday to very little acclaim. It resides on GOP.com and is paid for by the Republican National Committee.

It's something of an interactive feature that lets users ring up a sale on the "Obama card," which apparently makes everything free. (This is the level of discourse offered by a major political party?) The fun comes in when you get to take your "Obama card" through an online shopping spree, right from the GOP's own product portal.

As pointed out by John Aravosis over at Americablog, the GOP store contains many, many questionable items, ranging from the anti-Semitic to pornographic. Aravosis searched for "jew" and got "Jews and Their Lies" as a result, among others. A search for "latino" rendered "The Latino Threat." A search for "gay," however, resulted in a GOP scolding. "Bad Word!" the "Obama card" search proclaims.

Inspired by John's findings, I did a little searching around of my own, checking for every odd thing I could think of.

A search for "Bush" returned with "The Bush Tragedy" by author Jacob Weisberg, along with "Family of Secrets" by Russ Baker (fantastic book, I highly recommend it).............

john from americablog points us to this article

in the wasilla paper. as one of the commenters pointed out, they thought it was actually from the onion. it's not. it really IS from the frontiersman. john also asks us to read the comments. yes, ALL 700+ of them.

(i personally want to know why 'these people' (the these people are some on the edge closet perv types who wouldn't know jesus if he walked up to them with loaves and fishes) are so utterly CONSUMED with homosexuality. i am guessing they're getting a woody every time they hear the word)

as i see it the 'homosexuals' are NOT the sick fucks. this fucking sick fuckwad who wrote the article is

hey ron, METHINKS THOU DOTH PROTEST WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH
Will the Antichrist be a homosexual?
By Ron Hamman
Religion Views
In answering this question, it is important to assert the question does not originate with me, lest someone out there think that I am bringing some new doctrine out to bolster the political climate. But as the study of Bible prophecy includes verbiage as to the behavior of the one called “that Wicked” by Paul in II Thessalonians, it is not only a legitimate question to ask, but also one to answer.

While the word “homosexual” is not in the Bible, the behavior of those who practice homosexuality, and God’s estimation of them, very definitely is. When the word came into existence I cannot tell you, but what we can say for sure is that when Noah Webster published his first dictionary in 1828, it was not included. This means that homosexuality is a modern word invented to replace the word Noah Webster did include, sodomy, defined as a crime against nature. This is historical revisionism in action.

i like what john at

americablog posted about miss california

(i'm not even going to get into what i personally think of the continued practice of putting women on display and treating them like objects beauty pageants)

Miss California, the latest anti-gay "victim"
Miss California is now hitting the TV circuit, trying to blame "the gays" for her loss at the all-important Miss USA competition. You see, she was one of the top five finalists, and she was asked a question about gay marriage. She said she's against it. She ended up not wining. And now, she's all over TV whining about how her bigotry cost her the crown.

Okay, first off, it's a stupid beauty pageant. Nobody cares.

Second, clearly no one lectured Miss Bull Connor about the importance of losing gracefully. Whining on national TV, on show after show, about how your crown was stolen, is real poor form.

And finally, she may be the only one who thinks she was destined to win. Here's Richard Roeper in the Chicago Sun-Times:[W]e saw headlines on Monday such as, "Miss California Sparks Furor With Gay Marriage Comments on Miss USA Telecast," and, "Miss California Sparks Outrage over Gay Marriage Remarks."

Really? We're getting worked up over this? Because that hot blond woman in the white bikini didn't issue an articulate, passionate defense of gay marriage? (Not that hot blond girls in white bikinis aren't issuing passionate statements on all the major issues of the day even as we speak.)...........

and while we're at it, you really DO have to jump on over here.

you'll find NINE (count 'em, NINE) very short videos of the 'PERFECT' moments from this year's miss usa tits and ass showing beauty pageant (from the daily beast)

shout out to iowa state senator mike gronstal!

Powerful statement on gay marriage by Iowa Senate majority leader

You have to watch this video. It's only 2 minutes long. It's possibly the most powerful video I've seen to date on the issue of marriage equality for gay couples.

Transcript
One of my daughters was in the workplace one day, and her particular workplace at that moment in time, there were a whole bunch of conservative, older men. And those guys were talking about gay marriage. They were talking about discussions going on across the country.

Any my daughter Kate, after listening for about 20 minutes, said to them: You guys dont understand. Youve already lost. My generation doesnt care.

I think I learned something from my daughter that day, when she said that. And Ive talked with other people about it and thats what I see, Senator McKinley. I see a bunch of people that merely want to profess their love for each other, and want state law to recognize that.

Is that so wrong? I dont think thats so wrong. As a matter of fact, last Friday night, I hugged my wife. You know Ive been married for 37 years. I hugged my wife. I felt like our love was just a little more meaningful last Friday night because thousands of other Iowa citizens could hug each other and have the state recognize their love for each other.

No, Senator McKinley, I will not co-sponsor a leadership bill with you.

not a big fan of

zoos and aquariums on one hand, but on the other, of course i am. there are animals that would most likely be extinct if they weren't in captivity. it pains me to see animals in cages though. even cages like giant tanks for dolphins or giant plains for grazing or hunting animals. this is an amazing behaviour. take a look!

Gay Bloggers' Voices Rise in Chorus of Growing Political Influence

By Jose Antonio Vargas
Washington Post Staff Writer

Only the blogosphere, perhaps, has room for Pam Spaulding -- a black lesbian who lives in North Carolina, the only state in the South that has not banned same-sex marriage.

"California, Arizona and Florida all passed marriage amendments in November," says Spaulding, 44, an IT manager by day and a round-the-clock blogger. "All eyes are on North Carolina now." A few days ago, after reports that groups such as NC4Marriage and Christian Action League are organizing a rally in Raleigh to support "traditional marriage," Spaulding wrote on her blog, Pam's House Blend: "As predicted, the professional anti-gay forces plan to descend on NC." What she doesn't write is that, so long as she's blogging, what happens in North Carolina won't stay in the Tar Heel State.

Pam's House Blend is an influential voice in the gay political blogosphere, must-reads that include the Bilerico Project, Towleroad and AMERICAblog, each attracting a few hundred to a few thousand hits a day..............

on friday you couldn't belong to saddleback church

if you were gay. i guess today you can (ha ha ha). i guess rick warren thinks all 'the' gays left (you know the ones NOT dying with aids - because it appears only 'the' gays get aids) are f**king stupid

Rick Warren pulls anti-gay language from his Web site
Deny me three times, Rick?

So Rick Warren pulled the anti-gay language from his church Web site. The site used to explicitly ban gays from membership in the church.....................

i guess god herself told rick warren on friday that she hates fags, but she must have changed her mind today

a wicked cool discovery

(but pseudopodia is STILL my favorite)

Single-Celled Giant Upends Early Evolution
Michael Reilly, Discovery News

Nov. 20, 2008 -- Slowly rolling across the ocean floor, a humble single-celled creature is poised to revolutionize our understanding of how complex life evolved on Earth.

A distant relative of microscopic amoebas, the grape-sized Gromia sphaerica was discovered once before, lying motionless at the bottom of the Arabian Sea. But when Mikhail Matz of the University of Texas at Austin and a group of researchers stumbled across a group of G. sphaerica off the coast of the Bahamas, the creatures were leaving trails behind them up to 50 centimeters (20 inches) long in the mud.

The trouble is, single-celled critters aren't supposed to be able to leave trails. The oldest fossils of animal trails, called 'trace fossils', date to around 580 million years ago, and paleontologists always figured they must have been made by multicellular animals with complex, symmetrical bodies.

But G. sphaerica's traces are the spitting image of the old, Precambrian fossils; two small ridges line the outside of the trail, and one thin bump runs down the middle............

here's another giant asswipe

well john at americablog says it all in a few words:

Catholic cardinal of Baltimore calls Obama "aggressive, disruptive and apocalyptic"

John Aravosis (DC) ·
Clearly, Obama doesn't know his place.

You have to listen to this, especially when he talks about Obama's "clenched jaw" like it's the mark of the anti-Christ. Why do so many religions have to be run by such angry people..........

now here are MY words. let me get this straight, it's OK to kill tens of thousands of people in foreign lands. it's ok to allow 4,200 (plus) of OUR men and women by sending them into unjustifiable combat? it's ok to think it's a sin teaching contraception to people in overcrowded places like india or to people in countries with high instances of hiv? hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, but it's NOT ok to think it's ok for a woman to decide if she wants to bear a child or not? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm again
