Award stands for man who sued for theft of wife
A law still on the books in Mississippi entitles Johnny Valentine to over $750,000 from the man that his ex-wife Sandra ended up marrying, a judgment made final by the U.S. Supreme Court's refusal to hear the case, previously upheld on the state level.
After then-named Sandra Valentine and businessman Jerry Fitch Sr. conceived a child during an affair, the Valentines divorced. Johnny then sued Fitch under the state's "alienation of affection" law, which entitles an abandoned spouse legal recourse for loss of companionship, love, and sex.......
