are iranian mines killing us soldier OR

are us mines (equipment) LEFT OVER FROM THE CIA (who gave them to afghanistan to help them fight the RUSSIANS) killing us soldiers? i'm more apt to believe it's the arms given to the afghanis by the cia to help them fight 'the russians'. oh we are good aren't we?

Taliban's bombs came from US, not Iran
By Gareth Porter

WASHINGTON - In support of the official United States assertion that Iran is arming its sworn enemy, the Taliban, the head of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), Dennis Blair, has cited a statement by a Taliban commander last year attributing military success against North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) forces to Iranian military assistance.

But the Taliban commander's claim is contradicted by evidence from the US Defense Department, Canadian forces in Afghanistan and the Taliban themselves that the increased damage to NATO tanks by Taliban forces has come from anti-tank mines provided by the United States to the jihadi movement against the Soviets in Afghanistan in the 1980s.

this is what's happening in bosnia

multiply this by a million and you're going to get what will be happening in iraq. we didn't (really) cause bosnia, but we sure as shite caused iraq

even note school children are separated by ethnicity so each group can learn what is 'ethnically appropriate' for their groups. hell shouldn't ALL the kids learn THE SAME THING? THE TRUTH for example?

there is NO need for the world to be like this. i'm not better than you, i'm just different that you AND THAT'S OK

Old Troubles Threaten Again in Bosnia
14 Years After War, Leaders Suggest U.S. Should Step In to Rewrite Treaty

Washington Post Foreign Service
SARAJEVO, Bosnia -- Fourteen years after the United States and NATO intervened to stop war and ethnic cleansing in Bosnia, the old divisions and hatreds are again gripping this Balkan country.

In June, the international envoy who oversees the rebuilding of Bosnia invoked emergency powers that he said were necessary to hold the country together. Although U.S. and European officials have been trying to get Bosnia to stand on its own feet for years, many Bosnian leaders say the only thing that can permanently fix their gridlocked government is for Washington to intervene -- again -- and rewrite the treaty that ended the war in 1995.

The economy is in tatters, with unemployment exceeding 40 percent. Serbs are talking openly of secession. Croats are leaving the country in droves......

because we can't forget we're THERE too

they saw the russians leave and they'll see us leave as well. we make GIANT tactical mistakes. we didn't understand the vietnamese very well. we do NOT understand the iraqis AT ALL nor do we understand the people of afghanistan AT ALL either. i'm not a warrior. i know enough to UNDERSTAND one's 'enemy'. the picture (from wapo) features a 23 year old marine. it casually mentions he's had THREE tours. wtf???????????????? 23 years old and 3 tours of duty? what's wrong with THAT picture? (oh and thank you to all those who have served. any time. any where. i was never mad at you. i was and am mad at the decisions made by men in suits and ties sitting in comfy chairs)
U.S. Deaths Hit A Record High In Afghanistan
Toll of 31 So Far in July Makes For Deadliest Month of the War

Washington Post Staff Writers
GARMSIR, Afghanistan, July 21 -- U.S. deaths in Afghanistan have surged to a record high this month and are likely to remain elevated as American and NATO forces settle into outposts in southern Afghan villages and cities where Taliban forces have traditionally been the strongest.

The rising death toll comes as the country prepares for a presidential election next month, and could erode U.S. public support for a war that is already among the longest in U.S. history.

"This is probably the new normal," said Seth G. Jones, an analyst for the Rand Corp. and author of a new book on the U.S. military's nearly eight-year-old war in Afghanistan. "I'd actually be shocked if casualties didn't continue to increase."......

back peddling

what would have happened if there was NO video and NO pictures? would the military and our government continue to deny they killed children and women? LOTS OF CHILDREN AND WOMEN? how can they live with themselves? how could they continue to deny it when independent observers said it was true? they did continue to deny it for almost a month.

it's mighty mighty white of 'em to decide to send a team out (NOW) to investigate (when they have NO choice but to do so. since the proof is pretty damn air tight that WE KILLED KIDS)

U.S. Team to Reinvestigate Deadly Strike In Afghanistan

Washington Post Foreign Service

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, Sept. 8 -- The U.S. Central Command will send a senior team, headed by a general and including a legal affairs officer, to reinvestigate a U.S. air attack last month that U.N. and Afghan officials say killed 90 civilians, amid mounting public outrage in Afghanistan and evidence that conflicts with the military's initial version of events.

The U.S. decision to again probe the Aug. 21 attack in Azizabad, near the western city of Herat, came at the urging of Gen. David D. McKiernan, the top NATO commander in Afghanistan. McKiernan said he was prompted by "emerging evidence" that threw into question the finding of a U.S. investigation that five to seven civilians died. McKiernan had earlier said he concurred with that finding.............

why would they wait

seconds much less weeks or even days to 'investigate'. 47 women and children killed at a wedding party? that's bringing democracy and freedom to afghanistan?

i do NOT in any way shape or form blame our troops for ANY of this shite. king george and his entire administration. i've judged them all GUILTY

Civilian Airstrike Deaths Probed

78 Have Died in Three Incidents This Month Alone, Afghan Officials Say

Washington Post Foreign Service

KABUL -- U.S. and NATO military officials in Afghanistan have launched investigations into three separate U.S.-led airstrikes that Afghan officials say killed at least 78 civilians this month.

The investigations come during what U.N. and Afghan officials say is one of the deadliest years for civilians since the war began. In the first six months of this year, the number of civilians killed in fighting has increased by nearly 40 percent over the same period last year, according to U.N. data...

are we allowing king george and his court to continue to run us (and everyone else we come into contact with) into the ground?

U.S. Notes Limited Progress in Afghan War
Strategic Goals Unmet, White House Concludes

By Karen DeYoung Washington Post Staff Writer
A White House assessment of the war in Afghanistan has concluded that wide-ranging strategic goals that the Bush administration set for 2007 have not been met, even as U.S. and NATO forces have scored significant combat successes against resurgent Taliban fighters, according to U.S. officials.
The evaluation this month by the
National Security Council followed an in-depth review in late 2006 that laid out a series of projected improvements for this year, including progress in security, governance and the economy. But the latest assessment concluded that only "the kinetic piece" -- individual battles against Taliban fighters -- has shown substantial progress, while improvements in the other areas continue to lag, a senior administration official said. ...........
