you know...whatever, WE MUST LEAVE KIDS OUT OF THIS SHITE
Fox News altered 'Obama praise' story to exclude 'death threats'
-- Stephen C. Webster
In a story about a group of elementary school kids who sang the praises of President Barack Obama for a Black History Month event, Fox News appears to have removed key information regarding the fallout triggered by intense right-wing media coverage.
The story, titled "Elementary School Students Taught to Sing Praises of President Obama" (live link | screenshot), opens with these three paragraphs:
The superintendent of a New Jersey school where students were videotaped being taught to sing the praises of President Obama issued a statement Thursday saying the taping was unauthorized, but failed to address whether the the lesson -- taught durnig [sic] Black History Month -- was approved.
A YouTube video shows nearly 20 young children being led in a song overflowing with campaign slogans and praise for "Barack Hussein Obama," repeatedly chanting the president's name and celebrating his accomplishments, including his "great plans" to "make this country's economy No. 1 again."
The video has set off families in Burlington, N.J., who say that politics shouldn't be forced on young students..........
by Larisa Alexandrovna
So I am sure that by now you have heard of the "praise Obama" video. The Malkinites are making wild use of this to get the psychotics all fired up and ready for an attack on... an elementary school:
"The tension at B. Bernice Young Elementary School escalated to such a degree Thursday that the school was placed temporarily on lockdown after its principal received death threats over a YouTube video that showed nearly 20 children being taught songs lauding the president, though back-to-school night events continuing as planned Thursday night at the school."
Death threats over a YouTube video. And how did people find out which school to threaten? Well from stalker of small children Michelle "shiksa" Malkin of course. Now this idiot is a mother. I wonder how she might feel if the school that her child/children attended went into lockdown because of death threats? Might she be very upset and worried? I would wager yes.
That is what these people now do when they cannot find a doctor to murder or a hate-crime to commit. This is the story, not the stupid YouTube video which clearly had nothing to do with Obama or his administration or government or anything other than some stupid individual doing a very stupid thing. Moreover, Fox News removed the above death threats and school lockdown from their story. Why?
Well if you are trying to sell hate, you certainly don't want to include the consequences of your product in the brochure.
The police better arrest whomever it was that made these threats and put them away for a good long time. Remember, this is an elementary school, not a political carnival, complete with AK47s. ......

Internal Fox News Email Addresses “Standards” After 9/12 Flap
by Steve Krakauer
Mediaite has obtained an email from Fox News Vice President of News and Washington managing editor Bill Sammon to the staff of the D.C. bureau, in the wake of an FNC producer caught pumping up the crowd during the 9/12 tea party broadcast.
The email, with the subject line “standards,” addresses the controversy head-on: “We do not cheerlead for one cause or another,” writes Sammon. Full email after the jump:
Sammon uses the incident to drive home the need to be objective:
We do not rile up a crowd. If a crowd happens to be boisterous when we show it on TV, so be it. If it happens to be quiet, that’s fine, too. It’s not our job to affect the crowd’s behavior one way or the other. Again, we’re journalists, not participants — and certainly not performers........

2) rick sanchez? YUP with this:
CNN anchor calls out Fox News: ‘You lie’
By Muriel KaneWhen Fox News ran a full-page ad in the Washington Post — as well as in two newspapers owned by Fox’s parent company — claiming that it had been the only network to cover the 9.12 tea party rally in Washington, DC, it was more than one CNN anchor was willing to take.
“I usually don’t suffer fools gladly,” CNN’s Rick Sanchez began. “Especially when it comes to the fools who perpetuate falsehoods. Well, today thousands of you flipped through the pages of the Washington Post, only to come up a lie so bold and so upsetting that frankly I’m just not going to sit here in silence and allow my craft or my news operation to be unfairly maligned.”
Over a large photo of the rally, the ad asks, “How Did ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC and CNN Miss This Story?”
“Enough is enough,” Sanchez went on, sounding as though he had been taking lessons in righteous indignation from Keith Olbermann. “And yes, I’m talking to you, Fox News. You, who claim to be fair and balanced. At what, I wonder? … They are saying we did not cover this story. They are using a lie to try and divide people into camps. … That’s an offense to myself and my colleagues, who risked their lives in Iran and Afghanistan and around the world to bring the news.”..........

9/12 Protest: Here's What Fox News Didn't Broadcast
Posted by Max Blumenthal
While Fox News cameras covering the so-called 9.12 Project on the National Mall lurched away from signs morphing President Barack Obama's face into Adolph Hitler's, I zoomed in. Histrionics and manufactured paranoia were hard to avoid at the massive September 12 anti-Obama rally orchestrated by Fox News host Glenn Beck and former Republican House Majority Leader Dick Armey's corporate lobbying front group, Freedom Works.
When I dove into the angry mob with a camera, I captured scenes of self-proclaimed "real Americans" declaring that the community organizing group ACORN was Obama's version of Hitler's SS; that the President planned to establish concentration camps for right-wing dissidents; and that Obama was raising a private army in the guise of a civilian volunteer force. The death panel rumor is just one of a rapidly growing array of conspiracy theories reverberating through the Republican base. Each one is more hysterical than the last.

Fox: Rep. Joe Wilson Talks 'You Lie!' and Health Care
From "Fox News Sunday"
CQ Transcriptswire
CHRIS WALLACE (host): Here now to talk about his outburst during President Obama's speech is South Carolina Republican Joe Wilson.
And, Congressman, welcome to "FOX News Sunday."
REP. JOE WILSON (R-S.C.): And, Chris, it's an honor to be with you, and I -- I just am grateful to be here.
WALLACE: Well, let's get right to it. House Democrats have changed their mind. They've decided that they are going to make you choose early this week -- either you formally apologize on the floor of the House to all of your colleagues for calling the president -- saying, "You lie," or they are going to formally discipline you.
What are you going to -- what are you going to do, sir?
WILSON: Chris, I'm a civil person. I believe on civility on the floor. Additionally, on Wednesday night, I had just completed town hall meetings, the largest congressional town hall meetings in the history of South Carolina -- 1,700 people in Colombia, 1,500 in Lexington, 1,500 in Beaufort, 1,200 in Hilton Head.
People were passionate. They do not want government control of health care. And so on Wednesday night I had what one of my sons said was a town hall moment. After the speech -- I stayed for the whole speech............

Ad Calling Out Lou Dobbs' Birtherism Won't Run On CNN
Sam SteinA television advertisement attacking CNN host Lou Dobbs for promoting the "birther" conspiracy theory will not be airing during Dobbs's show -- or on CNN at all -- on most of the cable systems that the group behind the ad had intended.
On Monday, the progressive media watchdog group Media Matters put out an ad attacking Dobbs for continuing to report the doubts about President Obama's birth certificates as if it they were grounded in reality. The spot was slated to run on the three major cable news stations -- Fox News, MSNBC, and CNN -- in three major media markets -- New York, Atlanta and Washington D.C....................

Pentagon furious over call for execution of captured soldier
By David Edwards and Stephen Webster
According to NBC’s top Pentagon correspondent, the Department of Defense is furious with Fox News analyst Ralph Peters, who said on July 19 that the Taliban should murder 23-year-old Private First Class Bowe Bergdahl, captured after he strayed from his post, to save the Army “legal hassles and legal bills.”
Peters, a well-known Neoconservative and frequent Fox News guest, attempted to clarify his shocking statement on Tuesday night’s O’Reilly Factor, telling right-wing host Bill O’Reilly he believes that Bergdahl had “deserted” his unit and deserved no sympathy. He did not apologize. O’Reilly added that Bergdahl must be “crazy.”
However, Wednesday night MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow fired back, interviewing Jim Miklaszewski, NBC’s top Pentagon correspondent, who said the Department of Defense is furious with Peters and Fox News, adding there is no evidence that Bergdahl is a deserter.

what would you think of me if i said
what if keith olbermann said that? what if barack obama said that? what if rachel maddow said that? what if senator franken said that?
what would happen if those words (or similar ones) were uttered by a so-called 'liberal'? what would you do if they were uttered on cnn or nbc or cbs or msnbc? would you be outraged? would you call for the firing (as a consultant, newscaster, etc) for the person that said those horrid, ugly, hateful, treasonous words? would you demand the network who aired that evil broadcast to at the very least apologize?
well faux 'news' let them be uttered by their 'strategic analyst' RETIRED lt. col ralph peters (who also said in the future, service members were going to
where is our outrage over what was said by peters? where is our outrage about faux 'news' allowing this to be said? where is our sympathy for the family and friends of pfc bergdahl?
isn't pfc bergdahl an american soldier? is this how we allow american soldiers to be talked about?
can you just image what that 23 year old is going through? can you imagine what his family is going through? well i can't. i know what i'm going through and i don't even know him. he is in my thoughts and prayers for a SAFE AND SPEEDY return
Fox analyst: Taliban should kill US soldier if he deserted
By David Edwards and Daniel Tencerust a few months after he advocated for military attacks on journalists, Fox News strategic analyst Lt. Col. Ralph Peters is telling viewers that the soldier captured by the Taliban, now positively identified as 23-year-old Pfc. Bowe Bergdahl of Idaho, collaborated with the enemy by appearing in a Taliban hostage video.
Peters also said that the circumstances surrounding Bergdahl’s disappearance suggest he may have deserted his unit — and implied the Taliban should kill the US serviceman for that.
“We must wait until all the facts are in to make a judgment, but … he is an apparent deserter,” Peters told Fox’s America’s News Headquarters on Sunday. “Reports are indeed that he had abandoned his buddies, abandoned his post and walked off.”
Bergdahl disappeared from a base in eastern Afghanistan on June 30, and was declared “missing-captured” on July 3..........
Fox News Guest Ralph Peters Suggests Taliban Should Kill U.S. Soldier If He Deserted
Pfc. Bowe Bergdahl, the U.S. soldier who has been captured by the Taliban and appears in a video released this weekend by his captors, “went missing from his base in eastern Afghanistan on June 30.” The circumstances of his capture are still unknown. ABC News reports, “Defense officials said it appeared he somehow left his base in Paktika Province at night, likely accompanied by several Afghan soldiers.” On July 6, the Taliban claimed that “a drunken American soldier had come out of his garrison” and was captured by them.
On Fox News yesterday, guest Ralph Peters, a retired Army Lt. Col., urged against leaping to conclusions. “I was to stress first of all that we must wait until all of the facts are in until we make a final judgment,” Peters said, but quickly added, “He is an apparent deserter,” “he is collaborating with the enemy,” and “we know that this private is a liar.” Peters then suggested that if Bergdahl is a deserter, the Taliban should kill him:.........

off with their heads let them eat cake!!!!
i am fantasizing there is a special place in hell for senator gregg (fantasy is NOT the same as reality by the way. i do NOT wish anyone harm. even asswipes like this)
Sen. Gregg: Force the poor to buy health insurance
-- Stephen C. Webster
New Hampshire Republican Senator Judd Gregg, who was almost President Obama's commerce secretary, thinks he has a solution to America's healthcare crisis. Watch him explain the plan below:
This video is from Fox News Sunday, published to YouTube on Sunday, July 19, 2009. (it's above)
If you didn't catch that, here's what the senator just proposed:
Force the poor into buying "high-deductible" policies. But don't call them poor. Call them "illegal" or "young people" with wonky spending priorities.
Throw in a subsidy of unknown value to somehow "incentivize" folks who have not seen a doctor in years to suddenly vanish a valuable several hundred dollars from their monthly income for individual or family plans.
Don't mention any way to "incentivize" insurance companies to cover the "uninsurable" due to pre-existing conditions or chronic illnesses, of whom there are many. In fact, ignore them. They're not much concern at the ballot box.
Finally, Gregg's masterstroke: Don't mention that 'high deductible' means insurance which will refuse payment on needed care unless the holder can pay a lump sum to initiate treatment, usually $5,000 - $30,000, or more, which of course is Absolutely No Good to someone who cannot afford decent insurance in the first place. (At which point, many Republicans would suggest "health savings accounts" to fill in the gap, which is also no help to the poor.).........

Fox host defends DHS report on right-wing extremists
By David Edwards and Muriel KaneWhile providing breaking coverage of Wednesday’s fatal shooting by a white supremacist at the Washington, DC Holocaust Museum, Fox News host Shepard Smith connected the crime with both the recent killing of abortion provider Dr. George Tiller and last April’s report on right-wing extremism from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
“For the second time in as many weeks” Smith stated, “a crime scene reminds me of a memo … from the government, warning, ‘Look out for crazy extremists out there about to go do weirdness.’”
Reporter Catherine Herridge agreed that “it does seem to be the act of an individual who had extremist views and … someone who did have a military history. And as you remember, that was the element of the right-wing intelligence assessment which was so controversial.”........

Rep. Lamar Smith: ‘The greatest threat to America is a liberal media bias.’
Yesterday, Rep. Lamar Smith (R-TX) launched the Media Fairness Caucus, made up of about a dozen House Republicans, aiming “to fight liberal media bias.” The group will “point out unfair stories, meet with members of the media, and write op-eds and letters to the editor to highlight media bias,” Newsmax reported. Appearing on Fox News today, Smith declared that “liberal media bias” is a bigger threat to the United States than the recession or terrorism — and Fox’s Bill Hemmer seemed to agree:.........Monday, June 01, 2009

Abortion Doctor Slain by Gunman in Kansas Church
By JOE STUMPE and MONICA DAVEY
WICHITA, Kan. — George Tiller, one of only a few doctors in the nation who performed abortions late in pregnancy, was shot to death here Sunday in the foyer of his longtime church as he handed out the church bulletin.
The authorities said they took a man into custody later in the day after pulling him over about 170 miles away on Interstate 35 near Kansas City. They said they expected to charge him with murder on Monday.
The Wichita police said there were several witnesses to the killing, but law enforcement officials would not say what had been said, if anything, inside the foyer. Officials offered little insight into the motive, saying that they believed it was “the act of an isolated individual” but that they were also looking into “his history, his family, his associates.......Abortion doctor George Tiller is killed
The late-term abortion provider is shot at his church in Wichita, Kan. A suspect is arrested near Kansas City, police say. Tiller had been a victim of violence in the past.
By Robin Abcarian and Nicholas RiccardiReporting from Los Angeles and Wichita, Kan. - For years, abortion foes tried to put Dr. George Tiller out of business. One of the few American physicians who performed late-term abortions, he was targeted by violent extremists as well as principled opponents.
In 1986, his clinic was bombed. In 1991, it was blockaded for six weeks. In 1993, he was shot in both arms. In March, Kansas prosecutors tried him on charges of breaking an abortion law; he was acquitted. In May, vandals cut wires to security cameras and made holes in the roof of Tiller's clinic, Women's Health Care Services, a fortified single-story building where abortion foes keep daily vigil..............
Bill O'Reilly's 'Tiller the Baby Killer' Gunned Down in Wichita Church
Blogged by Brad Friedman
ox 'News' host had long charged KS physician with 'operating a death mill', 'executing babies', carrying out 'slaughter' Update: Wingnut 'FreeRepublic' commenters celebrate Tiller murder..
A manhunt is underway at this hour for the murderer of Kansas physician GeorgeTiller who was shot and killed this morning when he entered his church in Wichita. [Update: Suspect now in custody.]
Tiller was better known to Fox "News" viewers as "Tiller the Baby Killer", as he's long been described by Bill O'Reilly who has spent years targeting Tiller on the most-watched show in cable news. O'Reilly has long demonized him with allegations of performing illegal late-term abortions, characterized as murder by O'Reilly and his guests.
Of course, it's no more O'Reilly's fault when a lunatic takes action to murder someone the Fox host has targeted for years on his popular television show, than it was when another lunatic gunned down church-goers in Tennessee last year claiming in his pre-murder "manifesto" that it was "a symbolic killing", and that he had "wanted to kill...every Democrat in the Senate & House, the 100 people in Bernard Goldberg's book." Goldberg is a regular featured guest on O'Reilly's show, and the author of 100 People Who Are Screwing Up America (And Al Franken is #37).........

The Uighurs: Coda

The Uighurs: Coda
Newt Gingrich talking to Chris Wallace on Fox News (h/t):
"WALLACE: Well, let me get -- let's take one example, the Chinese Uighurs, Chinese Muslims...
GINGRICH: Right.
WALLACE: ... who were arrested in Afghanistan, brought to this country. The Pentagon says they're not enemy combatants. At least one federal judge has said they're not a threat. But if they go back to China, they're going to be prosecuted.
GINGRICH: Why is that our problem? I mean, why -- what -- if the -- if the -- what -- what is it -- why are we protecting these guys? Why does it become an American problem?
WALLACE: So what, send them to China and...
GINGRICH: Send them to China. If a third country wants to receive them, send them to a third country. But setting this precedent that if you get picked up by Americans -- I mean, the Somalian who was recently brought here who's a pirate -- I mean, if you get picked up by the Americans, you show up in the United States, a lawyer files an amicus brief on your behalf for free, a year later you have citizenship because, after all, how can we not give you citizenship since you're now here, and in between our taxpayers pay for you -- this is, I think -- verges on insanity."
Obviously, we can't send them back to China. They would be tortured or killed there, and knowing that, we are forbidden under international law to send them there..........
