you know it really ONLY
i'll respect you if you say you're not voting for barack obama becuase you simply cannot accept his proposals on health care and the financial crisis (i won't agree with you but i'll respect you). i'll think you're a pile of steamin' shite when you say things to me like, 'i can't vote for barack obama because he's not a citizen of the us.' or 'did you know he was a communist, muslim, socialist, polygamous devil worshiper?".........................
come on it's 2008, don't worry about the color of one's skin. worry about their hearts minds and souls (at least barack obama HAS a soul unlike sarevil and mccain)
Tom DeLay gets his hate on with Tweety on Hardball, 10-29-08.
.................................MATTHEWS: Where would you put him on that spectrum between- well, youre using words like socialist, youre[]happy, I guess okay with words like communist. We had somebody on this show the other day who said he oughta be checked out for being Anti-American. Where would you put him? You think hes anti-American in his values?
DELAY: Chris, I tagged him as a Marxist months ago, particularly when you look at his relationship with Jeremiah Wright, his relationship with William Ayers. Its not that Wright makes outrageous sermons, its that Jeremiah Wright is a black, liberation theology preacher. And twenty years of association means that he must agree with the Marxist theology of black liberation theology. Same with William Ayers, its not that hes a terrorist, its that this guys so anti-American he wants to completely destroy America and build a new America[..]...................

the bio-tch is baaaaaaaaaackkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
i posted the original video a couple of days ago (of the devilwoman known as bachmann with matthews. i'm too lazy to link to it. it's easy enough to find. here or elsewhere)
this woman is amazing. NOW it's chris matthews fault that she all but demanded anyone who wasn't a bigot, racist, misogynistic, fascist be investigated for being anti-american????????? wtf???????????????????? no, i do NOT like chris matthews and i know it wasn't HIS FAULT. what a giant pile o' steamin' shite this devilwoman is.
hey devilwoman THERE IS A FUCKING DIFFERENCE between someone supporting an ANTI AMERICAN organization like the alaska independence party (let's just say sarevil for example) and someone who just happens to be a little tiny bit left of center. ONE of those people supports an organization that wants to SUCCEED FROM AMERICAN. the other wants to support american in ways they feel will HELP america. don't tell me robert kennedy called someone who supported the aip anti-american and we should criticize him. (i didn't see it but if that's what he said HE'S RIGHT. they ARE anti american)
Bachmann: It’s All Chris Matthews’ Fault! ‘He Laid A Trap, And I Walked Into It’»
Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) is still on the defensive from an appearance last Friday on MSNBC’s Hardball, in which she called for the media to conduct a “penetrating exposé” into anti-American views of members of Congress.
Speaking with the St. Cloud Times on Tuesday, Bachmann said she regretted suggesting that Barack Obama held “anti-American” views. Referencing Chris Matthews by name 12 times in a 6 minute interview, Bachmann portrayed herself as the victim of a clever ploy devised by the MSNBC host:
Chris Matthews laid a trap, and I walked into it. […]
Chris Matthews was using the term over and over, and I should not have used it. […]
This was Chris Matthews. I made a big mistake by going on the show. I never should have. […]
I just didn’t recognize — I never watched the Chris Matthews show before. I should have before I went on. I didn’t recognize that he would lay a trap the way that he did............

Radio host Heidi Harris on Hardball: Women vote for Dems because they "tend to think with their hearts and not with their minds"
On the June 16 edition of MSNBC's Hardball, when host Chris Matthews asked why "most women vote Democrat," radio host Heidi Harris responded, "Most women? I don't know. I think women -- sadly, a lot of women are very emotional, and they tend to think with their hearts and not with their minds about some of these issues. They tend to feel more of these kind of things than think it through." She added, "I hate to say it, but it's true."
In response to Harris' comments, Matthews asked, "You mean it's not hard issues like abortion rights, or Social Security, or minimum wage? Logical reasons?" Harris replied: "You know what it is? I don't think, Chris, that most women under 50 care about abortion rights, and here's why. Because women at that age have -- Roe v. Wade was passed in '73, as you know. So all the women growing up -- my generation, the women 10, 15 years younger than I am, it's always been legal. I don't think that 30-year-old women have any concept of what it's like not to have that right."...........

why is this ass still on the air?
Matthews suggested Obama was never middle class, does not "have that experience that ... most Americans have"
—J.M. & S.S.M.
During the 7 p.m. ET hour of MSNBC's June 3 special election coverage, anchor Chris Matthews asked Democratic Leadership Council chairman Harold Ford Jr. if there was "something missing" in Sen. Barack Obama's "biography that people can identify with." Matthews continued: "He's gone from being a poor kid, growing up in Hawaii, in Indonesia, part of his youth, mixed family background, had to struggle, worked with community organizations; went to these incredibly elite schools, Columbia and Harvard Law, making Law Review and all that. He missed the middle part. Most Americans don't know anything about being dirt poor and don't know anything about the Ivy League. They're sort of in this struggling class. The people in the middle worried about paying bills, for whom going to the movies, paying 35, 40 bucks for the whole cost of going to the movies with your wife, is just too much money, OK?" Matthews went on to state: "Does he have that experience that people -- most Americans have? Does he connect on the basic struggling-class level? And I'm not sure he does." But Obama's biography, Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance (Crown, 1995), directly rebuts Matthews' assertion that Obama "missed the middle part."...........

Matthews on Obama: "[T]his gets very ethnic, but the fact that he's good at basketball doesn't surprise anybody"
Summary: On Hardball, discussing Sen. Barack Obama's bowling performance at a campaign stop, Chris Matthews said to MSNBC political analyst Michelle Bernard, "You know, Michelle -- and this gets very ethnic, but the fact that he's good at basketball doesn't surprise anybody, but the fact that he's that terrible at bowling does make you wonder." While showing the video of Obama's bowling, Matthews asserted, "[I]t isn't the most macho form there."
On the March 31 edition of MSNBC's Hardball, discussing Sen. Barack Obama's bowling performance at a March 29 campaign stop at Pleasant Valley Lanes in Altoona, Pennsylvania, MSNBC political analyst Howard Fineman asserted, "[I]f you can't do something like that, you shouldn't do it. He should have stuck to shooting hoops -- which he's very, very good at, by the way, and which translates racially, too, especially during the NCAA basketball tournament. Don't do something you've never tried before in front of a national television audience, OK?" Addressing MSNBC political analyst Michelle Bernard, host Chris Matthews responded, "You know, Michelle -- and this gets very ethnic, but the fact that he's good at basketball doesn't surprise anybody, but the fact that he's that terrible at bowling does make you wonder." While showing the video of Obama's bowling, Matthews asserted, "[I]t isn't the most macho form there." ............

apology or not
believe me i am NO fan of hillary. i will N OT ever in a million years vote for her. it's NOT because she's a woman though. it's because i think she's a lyin' weasel. i don't trust her as far as i can throw her. i don't think she's a senator because her husband stepped out on her. i think she was elected because she's BRIGHT, charismatic and a good liar.
Chris Matthews Backs Off 'Nasty' Remark on Clinton
By Howard Kurtz Washington Post Staff Writer
Under pressure from feminist groups and his own bosses at MSNBC, Chris Matthews apologized yesterday for remarks about Hillary Clinton that he now admits sounded "nasty."
For 10 days, the "Hardball" host had doggedly insisted he was just reciting a bit of history when he said on the air that "the reason she's a U.S. senator, the reason she's a candidate for president, the reason she may be a front-runner is her husband messed around."
But protests against those and other remarks by Matthews reached a peak yesterday when the presidents of such groups as the National Organization for Women, Feminist Majority and National Women's Political Caucus sent a joint letter of complaint to NBC News President Steve Capus. ...........
David Brock Issues Open Letter to NBC News President Steve Capus
Washington, D.C. -- Today, Media Matters for America President & CEO David Brock issued an open letter to Steve Capus, the president of NBC News, raising serious questions about the on-air conduct of MSNBC Hardball host Chris Matthews. Given Matthews' long history of degrading commentary, Brock has urged Capus to protect the network's trusted reputation for fair and equal coverage and, as Capus himself articulated, "continue the dialogue about what is appropriate conduct and speech" on the air.
Highlights from the letter include:
"Senator Clinton's candidacy aside, Matthews' degrading attacks on women constitute a broader and more troubling pattern that has unfolded over the years. During his coverage of the 2000 presidential race, Matthews repeatedly referred to author Naomi Wolf as "the political equivalent of Viagra." His on-air treatment of CNBC anchor Erin Burnett ("Could you get a little closer to the camera? ...You're beautiful. ...You're a knockout.") has been described by Emily's List President Ellen Malcolm as "sexual harassment brought to you by MSNBC."'........
Chris Matthews addresses firestorm
On the January 17 edition of MSNBC's Hardball, host Chris Matthews addressed the firestorm sparked by his comment about Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) that "the reason she's a U.S. senator, the reason she's a candidate for president, the reason she may be a front-runner is her husband messed around. That's how she got to be senator from New York. We keep forgetting it. She didn't win there on her merit."
From the January 17 edition of MSNBC's Hardball with Chris Matthews:
MATTHEWS: Good evening, I'm Chris Matthews. Welcome to Hardball. Well, we're in a time of a lot of frustration in this country -- Iraq, of course; the lack of health care for people who work every day; gas prices going up; the weakening economy that scares us every day -- and I come on here every night and try to wrestle with these frustrations, and also the changes in our country. We might soon have the first woman president, the first African-American president, or a man older than we've ever elected before. And of course, we always treat things here with hope -- our uniquely American hope that we can actually make things better, that we can make the greatest of countries, not only survive, but as [author] William Faulkner once said, "prevail.".........
