suspended for a week?

the fucking maggot (BURKE this time) SHOULD BE FIRED. he gave out personal phone numbers and just about begged his audience (of wingnuts it appears) to threaten the two organizers of the alaska anti-palin rally

that is not only immoral and ugly and evil, it is something that should never, in any way shape or form be accepted.

if i had sarevil's phone number in my possession or even king george's i would NEVER publish it. a work number (if it was a public type job. government and the like), address, email address YES but personal NO NO AND NO
(and even if i had asshole eddie burke's cell number, i would NOT give it out, mad as i am even).

oh one more thing... last i heard this was AMERICA. we have the right to protest. isn't that why we stole this land we're in this country to begin with?

Radio host Burke suspended for a week

Anchorage AM radio host Eddie Burke was been suspended after broadcasting the phone numbers of women involved in organizing a protest rally against Sarah Palin over the weekend, his station manager said today.

In a statement, KBYR-AM 700 station manager Justin McDonald said broadcasting the numbers last week was "breaking station policy." Burke will be suspended for one week without pay, he said.

"Though I do not agree with some of the comments he made, as a licensee, we attempt to respect everyone's First Amendment rights, including Eddie Burke's, our listeners' and our nonlisteners'," McDonald's statement said. "That does not mean I condone inciting violence or harm in any way to people wanting to voice their opinions with peaceful protest."

Last week Burke, host of a conservative daily talk show, called rally organizers Charla Sterne and Ilona Bessenyey "socialist, baby-killing maggots," read their phone numbers on the air and encouraged listeners to call them. The women said their voice-mail quickly filled with angry, profane messages, some of them threatening.........

Had six beers tonight relaxing from a bad day at work. Will have to drink the three I have left after reading this. I've wrote this before for a far different post but in the miniseries "I, Cladius" Tiberius close to the end of his reign has a young Caligula kissing his ass someplace and Tiberius looks at him and tell him Rome deserves you. It was explained by Alister Cook later that what Tiberius meant was that given the depravity and corruption of the Roman people Caligula would be Icing on the cake for them. Sort of you get what you deserve. Given the excitement expressed by so many level-headed people over Palin being on the ticket I can't help but feel a little of the same way.
