i was just thinkin' da liebs MUST be living a wet dream over this
Heard my good-old Senator Graham on Meet The Press today saying the same thing about the surge. Laying aside the issue of where we are even going to get the 20,000 troops I'm hearing talked about being sent. Just 20,000 troops will be just a drop in the bucket and not make a bit of difference. If the same practices hold from my time in the service much of that 20,000 will be support personnel and not be involved in combat to secure this cluster f%ck. Making the guys and gals over there now extend their tours and sending those getting ready to go over early just to save Bush's legacy is an unbelievable affront to the people who volunteer to serve this country. As for the report of the Israeli nuclear attack plans on Iran, I can't yet get my head around that nightmare right now.
the israeli attack i hope is NOT true but i wouldn't be surprised.
as for the 20,000 troops. yes, i agree with you. i think there are going to be extended tours of duty many more going to be sent BACK and fewer rotations OUT of iraq
there are a handful of people who think that is a GOOD thing. a handful mind you. MOST Of the citizens of the united states AND it's politicians do NOT think it a GOOD idea. when will our politicians STEP UP???
The sad part is that it is all about the money, A Rose. This is unfortunately what drives our politics. Until it makes financial sense for them to get out of Iraq, it won't happen. Of course, it is bankrupting us (our social programs here at home, etc.) but they are getting richer and richer...
