more pussies in the news

i watch animal planet (way way way too much animal cops BUT a lot of those stories DO end happily. not all of course, but many. it gives my heart song when a dog or cat that was abused gets a new human companion who loves them) but have not heard of this show

Cats compete on TV reality show

Ten cats are competing to find their perfect owner on a reality TV programme being shown in the US.
The feline competitors, who all come from animal shelters or rescue groups, are being filmed in a New York shop window until 23 June.
As on Big Brother, the cats will have to complete tasks, and will be graded on purring and catching toy mice..........

......The show is being broadcast on US cable channel Animal Planet. ...........

(just checked out the animal planet sight and can't find this show. perhaps it will be broadcast in the future)

I can't watch animal cops...it makes me sick and I want to reach through the tv screen and wring the abusers' necks.

I have heard about this cat reality show and I hope they find homes for all the cats.

As an animal lover, I am happy it seems harder and harder to acquire a kitten or puppy today - there was a time when Free Kittens or Free Puppies signs were on every telephone pole.

We have semi adopted a neighborhood cat...(food water) we planned on getting her fixed this month but yesterday we realised we were to late.

Ah. You bleeding hearts. What about the stir-fry option?

About the third post--it does seem that property takes precedence over human life as observed back at home by Glenda. It's pretty outrageous.

The same, of course, should be said for drug users and dealers. I think the violence that evidently goes along with it results from the fact that it's a business (how many lives has Exxxon destroyed to stay "competitive"?).

mary i'm with you on that one. i want to kick the shite out of those people. i cannot fathom how they can do such things, leave animals in such conditions. several shelters require they be allowed to drop in if they so feel so they can see how the adoption is going. i LIKE that idea

l o c - damn that's too bad. it would be cool if you were still willing to have her fixed after the kitties are weaned.

glenda, yeah, that's one reality show i wouldn't mind watching!

no6, i am going to kick you in the shin!
