he (king george)

and his buds ARE NOT citizens above suspicion. they are war criminals. they should be charged, tried and brought to justice IMMEDIATELY. we cannot and must not let them continue. how we can go on with our heads in the sand is beyond me. i just don't know how and why we allow them to continue
(shout out to at largely)

CRIMINALS ABOVE THE LAW:
Torturegate: Truth, But No Consequences

by Chris Floyd
This has been one of the most extraordinary weeks in modern American history. The many isolated streams of evidence about the Bush Administration's torture system – and the direct responsibility of the Administration's highest officials for this vast crime – have now converged into a mighty flood: undeniable, unignorable, pouring through the halls of Congress and media newsrooms, lashing at the walls of the White House itself. In the course of the past few days, a series of events has laid bare the stinking sepsis at the heart of the Bush Regime for all to see.

It began last Sunday with the launch of a remarkable series by McClatchy Newspapers, detailing the torture, brutality, injustice and murder that has riddled the Bush gulag from top to bottom. Then came fiery Senate hearings, in which long-somnolent legislators finally bestirred themselves to confront and denounce some of the torture system's architects, including Dick Cheney pointman William Haynes III, who was left reeling, shuffling, dissembling – and bracing for perjury charges after his blatantly mendacious testimony.

Companion hearings in the House produced stunning confirmation of mass murder in the Bush gulag – a bare minimum of 27 killings, among the 108 known cases of death among Terror War captives. This evidence came from rock-solid Establishment figure Col. Larry Wilkerson, former chief of staff to Colin Powell. (Of course, as many captives have been and are being held in "secret prisons," and an untold number of others have been hidden from the Red Cross, there is no way of knowing at this point how many prisoners have actually died or been murdered – or even how many prisoners there are in the gulag.)............

since waterboarding isn't torture

it's NOT it's just a drop in the bucket so to speak. WE DON'T TORTURE. king george says so (and so do all of his court). so we DON'T if they say we don't (yeah, right)

since we DON'T torture, we PAY OTHERS TO DO IT FOR US
Jordan's Spy Agency: Holding Cell for the CIA
Foreign Terror Suspects Tell of Torture

By Craig Whitlock Washington Post Foreign Service
AMMAN, Jordan -- Over the past seven years, an imposing building on the outskirts of this city has served as a secret holding cell for the CIA.
The building is the headquarters of the General Intelligence Department, Jordan's powerful spy and security agency. Since 2000, at the
CIA's behest, at least 12 non-Jordanian terrorism suspects have been detained and interrogated here, according to documents and former prisoners, human rights advocates, defense lawyers and former U.S. officials. In most of the cases, the spy center served as a covert way station for CIA prisoners captured in other countries. It was a place where they could be hidden after being arrested and kept for a few days or several months before being moved on to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, or CIA prisons elsewhere in the world.............

this should be on the front page

of every paper in america EVERY DAY. along with pictures of our men and women coming home in coffins, with limbs missing and worse

torture in the name of freedom? when others do it they are savages and subhuman. when we do it, we're protecting ourselves from terrorists. everyone knows (including schoolchildren), the information one obtains from a tortured victim is NOT RELIABLE. they will say anything, they will agree to anything, to make the torture stop. yes, i did that. yes, he or she was my comrade.....

we are a supposedly free nation. we have laws and rules and we abide by international laws as well. hmmmmm, let's just say we're SUPPOSED to.

i know the cia and other organizations have done horrid things under different presidents, including democratic ones. i don't believe they've ever achieved the level of evil they have under king george though.

will congress then the senate grow some stones and bring charges against this regime? it must stop

is this the legacy we want to leave our children?
History Will Not Absolve Us
Leaked Red Cross report sets up Bush team for international war-crimes trial

by Nat Hentoff
If and when there's the equivalent of an international Nuremberg trial for the American perpetrators of crimes against humanity in Guantánamo, Iraq, Afghanistan, and the CIA's secret prisons, there will be mounds of evidence available from documented international reports by human-rights organizations, including an arm of the European parliament—as well as such deeply footnoted books as Stephen Grey's Ghost Plane: The True Story of the CIA Torture Program (St. Martin's Press) and Charlie Savage's just-published Takeover: The Return of the Imperial Presidency and the Subversion of American Democracy (Little, Brown).
While the Democratic Congress has yet to begin a serious investigation into what many European legislators already know about American war crimes, a particularly telling report by the International Committee of the Red Cross has been leaked that would surely figure prominently in such a potential Nuremberg trial. The Red Cross itself is bound to public silence concerning the results of its human-rights probes of prisons around the world—or else governments wouldn't let them in. ..............
