FBI Arrests White Supremacist Blogger Hal Turner For Threatening To Kill Federal Judges

Today, FBI agents went to the New Jersey home of white supremacist blogger/radio host Hal Turner and arrested him “on a federal complaint filed in Chicago alleging that he made internet postings threatening to assault and murder three federal appeals court judges in Chicago in retaliation for their recent ruling upholding handgun bans in Chicago and a suburb,” according to a statement released by the Justice Department. A summary of Turner’s dangerous tirade against the judges:

Internet postings on June 2 and 3 proclaimed “outrage” over the June 2, 2009, handgun decision by Chief Judge Frank Easterbrook and Judges Richard Posner and William Bauer, of the Chicago-based 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, further stating, among other things: “Let me be the first to say this plainly: These Judges deserve to be killed.” The postings included photographs, phone numbers, work address and room numbers of these judges, along with a photo of the building in which they work and a map of its location........

my state capital

i took this a while ago. i was testing mobil blogging and it's the only picture on my phone i actually took.

speaking of the capital, love makes a family (ct) wants us all to REPRESENT at the legislative office building today. i may stop on by after work. the following is from love makes a family:

The CT legislature’s Judiciary Committee will hold a public hearing on the Marriage Codification bill on Friday, March 6, at 10am in Room 2C of the Legislative Office Building.

We want to fill the hearing room with our yellow EQUALITY stickers on Friday to show legislators and Governor Rell that Connecticut is proud of our new law allowing same-sex couples to marry.

PLEASE JOIN US FOR ALL OR PART OF THE HEARING ON FRIDAY!

SB 899, An Act Implementing the Guarantee of Equal Protections Under the Constitution of the State for Same-Sex Couples, will:

- Conform our state statutes to the Supreme Court’s ruling in Kerrigan and remove all discriminatory “DOMA-like” language.
- Provide for recognition, by the state of Connecticut, of marriages, civil unions, and domestic partnerships from other states which provide substantially similar benefits to marriage.
- Urge other states to recognize all of Connecticut’s marriages.
- Remove demeaning language that was included in statute with the passage of the “gay rights law” in 1991.
- Clarify the status of civil unions, merging them into marriages after October 2010.

Can you make it? E-mail Matt at matt@lmfct.org and let us know. Visit www.lmfct.org to learn more.

Can’t attend? Then e-mail your legislators and urge them to support this bill! www.lmfct.org

i've been using it for YEARS

on my face (as a NATURAL clay mask that is). it is also used as a natural insect repellent on crops. it was also THE active ingredient in kaopectate. seems WAYYYYYYYYY back in the day, south american natives saw parrots eating it (how they assumed the parrots ate it to sooth indigestion, i'll never know) and copied the birds

what a wonderful invention, gauze that helps stop blood loss. AND the company that invented it is in MY state

Nanoparticles Help Gauze Stop Gushing Wounds
By Aaron Rowe
Medical gauze hasn't changed much since World War I: Medics can only stuff it into a gushing wound and pray.
Now chemists have infused cotton gauze with nanoparticles, giving it a vastly improved ability to halt blood loss -- even in tight spots like the neck or groin where it's hard to apply pressure. The new material could help save lives on the battlefield and in civilian situations, where trauma victims often bleed to death before they can be transported to a hospital or other medical facility.
"We are currently testing bandages because hemorrhage is a leading cause of death in military trauma patients," says Richard McCarron, head of trauma and resuscitative medicine at the
Naval Medical Research Center in Silver Spring, Md. "The recent tests with Combat Gauze indicate that it decreased blood loss and improved survival." The lifesaving fabric McCarron refers to is made by Z-Medica, a medical products company based in Connecticut. According to Z-Medica CEO Ray Huey, the new product has already saved two lives. ......

..........................Ironically, the solution to the heating problem lay in replacing QuikClot with a material that has been used in medical tests for more than 50 years. The key ingredient in the new gauze is kaolin clay, which is often used to make pottery and happens to be rich in aluminosilicate nanoparticles -- which trigger blood clotting. ..............
