fate?

there was a horrible car accident here a little while ago. it involved many people and many vehicles. so horrible, it made national news. i work with someone who was in that accident. i've worked with him for MANY years. although i don't know him intimately, i know enough to like him. for a reason i have now forgotten, i called him 'new guy'. well i ran into him in the hallway yesterday at work. he has returned (in i feel way too short of a timespan for his injuries) triumphantly, a smile on his face! we talked for a while. i saw the light in his eyes. i saw for one moment what he sees. there was no bitterness or anger in him. he was HAPPY. he was thankful to those that saved him (naming them ALL to me, lol) and pained for those that lost their lives and those that will live with the pain and the scars from this horrid event. i will not say what else we spoke of, that is between us. i WILL say he gave me inspiration and joy.
