god hates

pepsi (and as it turns out COKE too, even though the brain-less soul-less compassion-less non-christ-like asswipes who are boycotting pepsi don't know coke's human rights record is a bit better than pepsi  -  according to the following article that is)

500,000 to boycott Pepsi over its 'homosexual advocacy'

By Daniel Tencer

'God hates Diet Pepsi'
A group that advocates "traditional family values" claims it has the signatures of 500,000 people who have pledged to boycott Pepsi over what it says are the company's activities promoting gay rights.
The American Family Association, which boasts "2.5 million online supporters," "asked PepsiCo to be neutral in the culture war and not support the homosexual agenda," it said in a press release Tuesday. "PepsiCo refused. The company continues to give financial support to homosexual organizations."
The AFA launched its boycott campaign in January over PepsiCo's "continued support of same-sex marriage and homosexual advocacy." The group said it had received a "condescending letter" from Pepsi that "refused to address Pepsi's support of the homosexual agenda."
In particular, the AFA decried PepsiCo's donations to groups that funded the effort against California's Proposition 8 last year. The AFA said PepsiCo gave $500,000 to the Human Rights Campaign, which had worked to defeat Proposition 8............

the 'ex' gay community?

there is without a doubt NO such thing being as an 'EX' gay. if you're gay, you're gay. even if you sleep with a member of the opposite sex. even if you pretend to settle down and marry a member of the opposite sex. if you are gay YOU ARE GAY FOREVER.

and, to me, i think, WHAT THE HELL DOES IT MATTER (if you're gay or straight)? it matters to me if you're an asshole or not. now THAT matters

well, a special shout out to pepsi for NOT cowering down to these evil closed minded bible thumping moronic goons

Pepsi Urged To Drop Gay Ties

(Dallas, Texas) A PepsiCo shareholder who describes himself as “a former gay” urged the company to “stop using shareholder profits to fund anti-heterosexual groups” at the firm’s annual shareholders meeting in Dallas.
Greg Quinlan, a member of the conservative American Family Associated affiliated group Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays & Gays, presented a motion asking stockholders to stop donating money to groups that he said ” aim to discredit the ex-gay community.”

In his speech to shareholders, Quinlan described the Human Rights Campaign and Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) as “gay organizations that hate people like me.”

Over the past two years, Pepsi has given $500,000 to the Human Rights Campaign and $500,000 to PFLAG.

“By funding PFLAG, PepsiCo promotes fear and hostility against the ex-gay community and our supporters, and spreads lies about ex-gay organizations. Diversity does not mean funding one organization so that it can attack another,” said Quinlan.....

Gay-Marriage Opponents To Boycott McDonald's

Washington Post Staff Writer

A group that opposes same-sex marriage has called for a boycott of McDonald's, saying the fast-food giant has refused "to stay neutral in the cultural war over homosexuality."

The American Family Association (AFA) launched the boycott yesterday because McDonald's joined the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce several months ago and placed an executive on the group's board of directors, in addition to donating to the chamber.

The association asked McDonald's to remove itself from the chamber but the burger-maker declined, leading to the boycott. ......

AFA: Now trying to tarnish Golden Arches

Well the American Family Association has yet to make the big McDonald's announcement that they've promised for today. However, we see no need to wait for the McSillies' upcoming press release. For we can exclusively reveal that because of the fast food chain's perceived support of gay rights, the AFA will later today launch this site:

Picture 34-9

Yes, that's right -- Like Disney and Ford before them, Mickey D's has become the latest American corporation to suffer at the baselessly extremist, rabidly anti-gay hands of Don Wildmon Inc. The McNugget company's "sin"? The refused to shun Vice President of Communications Richard Ellis for his decision to serve on the Board of Directors of the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC)...................

ridiculous

so afraid. this time afraid of a word. changing gay to homosexual. EVEN WHEN IT HAPPENS TO BE SOMEONE'S LAST NAME
idiots

Homophobic news site changes athlete Tyson Gay to Tyson Homosexual

The funny people who run the American Family Association’s OneNewsNow site are so frightened of gays that they've set up a filter to change every instance of the word "gay" to "homosexual."

And while they may have fixed this particular instance, it looks like they haven't gone back through their archives and corrected other articles where this happened, such as this article where professional basketball player Rudy Gay is referred to as "Rudy Homosexual."..........

how effed up is this?

people? what about torturing? what about not assisting those taking playboy and penthouse away from military men and women will "right a bureaucratic--and moral--wrong." A MORAL WRONG? what about invading a country who never attacked us, never was going to attack us? what about turning over 1,000,000 people into refugees? what about lying to the american public to the DETRIMENT of the americanamericans who were harmed by natural disasters? what about not caring about millions of americans who go to bed hungry each night? oh it goes on forever.

i am NOT a fan of playboy and penthouse. they more than demean women. they portray beauty (and sensuality and sex and attractiveness) as being only ONE way. i don't mind 'pornography' at all. i mind HOW women and WHAT women are portrayed in the playboys and the penthouses of the world.

IF our military men and women want access to those types of magazines, IT'S THEIR RIGHT to have them. they are allowed to torture and kill and maim but they're not allowed to get a stiffy?
bullshite on that
(and oh, this headline is certainly worthy of the ny post, isn't it? but it ain't the post)
Legislation aims to jack soldiers' 'off time' reading materials

Nick Langewis
"Pro-family" organizations and members of Congress are continuing the push to limit the range of reading materials available to members of the military.

House Rep. Paul Broun (GA-10), with 15 co-sponsors and the support of organizations such as the Alliance Defense Fund and the American Family Association, recently introduced a bill that would strengthen the ban on sales of adult-themed publications on U.S. military installations.

While the National Defense Authorization Act of 1997 bans the sale of "sexually explicit material" on property under Department of Defense jurisdiction, the Pentagon doesn't consider certain items explicit enough to take off of base store shelves; a certain percentage of a film or magazine's content would have to be considered "sexually explicit" for sale or rental to be barred.,............

American Family Association takes aim at McDonald's
by PageOneQ
Upset over the election of a senior executive of the fast food giant McDonald's to the Board of Directors of the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, Donald Wildmon of the American Family Association is calling upon his organization's members to take action. Wildmon is asking his ranks to call their local McDonald's franchises to ask why the company is "using its size and resources to promote the homosexual agenda" and to use the AFA's online action center to send company Chairman Andrew J. McKenna an email. (On the AFA page, McKenna is misidentified as the company's President.)
Last month, Richard Ellis, VP of Communications for McDonald's USA, was elected to the NGLCC board and said he was "thrilled to join the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce team and ready to get to work." McDonald's is also listed as a Chamber
corporate partner.
"With publicity stunts like this, you have to begin to wonder if the entire staff at the American Family Association was in a coma the last decade when corporate America rocketed towards equality,"
Human Rights Campaign spokesman Brad Luna told PageOneQ today. McDonald's scored an 85% rating from the HRC Equality Index.......

Religious leaders push back against right's "War on Christmas"
By Bill Berkowitz

............."At a time when soldiers and innocent civilians are dying in a real war in Iraq and 37 million Americans live still in poverty we should be focusing on those moral scandals not having petty shouting matches on television about a supposed `secular conspiracy' to subvert Christmas."
"When we consider the true meaning of Christmas, its sacredness is not validated by prescribed greetings or slogans in department stores," said Rev. Derrick Harkins, Senior Pastor of the Nineteenth Street Baptist Church in Washington, DC, and a Board member of the evangelical humanitarian relief agency World Relief, "If we are truly serious about the importance of Christmas, we will remember that its message of love and hope was shared with disenfranchised shepherds first, which should prompt us to be far more concerned with how the season is shared in word and deed with the poor and hurting among us." .......
