thousands of our men and women are dead

TENS of thousands of THEIR men and women and children are dead. even more are displaced. BILLIONS of dollars are going down the drain. corruption is rampant. goddess only knows what the mercernaries are doing.

people are being slaughtered in darfur (and worse)

and yet the ONLY time some members of congress (republicans in this case) react is when someone chooses to use the word 'liar' in a king george context?

what the f**k is wrong with THAT picture?
Congressmembers rule: No calling Bush a liar

Michael Roston
A Congressional Democrat has been reined in for calling President George W. Bush a 'liar' during a Thursday hearing of the House Judiciary Committee, according to the Monday edition of the newspaper Roll Call.
"Rep. Mel Watt (D-N.C.) offered a lengthy criticism of Bush’s record toward the end of Thursday’s hearing, which included a statement that Bush lied about the reasons for going to war with Iraq in 2003," writes Susan Davis. "Rep. Chris Cannon (R-Utah) offered an objection on the grounds that Watt’s words were 'unparliamentary' and violated House rules on debate and decorum that forbid personal attacks on Members, the president or vice president."
The exchange occurred just before the end of the hearing that expected to receive testimony from former White House Counsel Harriet Miers, who failed to appear. She cited the White House's exercise of 'executive privilege.'
Davis notes that a problem then occurred.........

faux 'news'

where if ANYBODY knows id-jits, IT BE THEM

(and no i don't think former us attorney david iglesias is an id-jit but i DO think rep chris cannon is a giant steamin' one)

GOP Rep.: US Attorney Iglesias fired 'because he's an idiot'

Reps. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) and Chris Cannon (R-UT) appeared on Fox News Sunday this morning to debate the politicization of the Justice Department.
Van Hollen argued that the firing of US Attorney David Iglesias in New Mexico last December was evidence of that politicized culture.
"It was clearly a case of trying to push somebody who exercises independent judgment," Van Hollen said of phone calls placed to Iglesias by Sen. Pete Domenici (R-NM) and Rep. Heather Wilson (R-NM) to pressure the attorney to prosecute certain voter fraud cases.
Van Hollen said that Iglesias was fired because he ultimately did not "take orders from the White House" on those cases.
Cannon then spoke over Van Hollen, saying, "No, no, he was fired because he's an idiot." ........
