Olbermann: WTF? GOP spokesman fired for criticizing Limbaugh
By David Edwards and Muriel KaneThe Republican Party’s growing — and potentially fatal — propensity to eat its own came in for scrutiny by MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann’s during Tuesday’s “WTF moment.”
Two months ago, a Wisconsin man named Kevin Stevenson wrote a column for the Wausau Daily Herald which criticized Rush Limbaugh for saying that he wanted President Obama to fail.
“Today’s politics is full of self-interest,” Stevenson wrote. “Rush Limbaugh… has a large and loyal following, but so does Rachel Maddow as an extreme liberal. Both of these people need to shock to keep their ratings high. They are entertainers who earn their living by what they say, not what they accomplish.”
As a result of those remarks Stevenson lost his job — as spokesman for the Marathon County Republican Party................

Mancow Waterboarded, Admits It's Torture
"It is way worse than I thought it would be"
By RYAN POLLYEA
.................."The average person can take this for 14 seconds," Marine Sergeant Clay South answered, adding, "He's going to wiggle, he's going to scream, he's going to wish he never did this."
With a Chicago Fire Department paramedic on hand, Mancow was placed on a 7-foot long table, his legs were elevated, and his feet were tied up.
Turns out the stunt wasn't so funny. Witnesses said Muller thrashed on the table, and even instantly threw the toy cow he was holding as his emergency tool to signify when he wanted the experiment to stop. He only lasted 6 or 7 seconds.
"It is way worse than I thought it would be, and that's no joke,"Mancow said, likening it to a time when he nearly drowned as a child. "It is such an odd feeling to have water poured down your nose with your head back...It was instantaneous...and I don't want to say this: absolutely torture."...............
This out from MSNBC ...
MSNBC's Keith Olbermann on tonight's "Countdown" pledged to donate $10,000 to charity after disc jockey Erich "Mancow" Muller was waterboarded today on live radio, in an attempt to prove the technique was "not torture." After six seconds Muller said it was "absolutely torture" and that were he to be interrogated by the use of waterboarding he would "confess to anything." Olbermann promised to donate $10,000 to the charity Veterans of Valor, founded by Sgt. Klay South, who administered the waterboarding to Muller today, and withdrew his offer to Sean Hannity to make a donation to the charity of his choice if he followed through on his offer to undergo waterboarding.
If you haven't seen the Mancow waterboarding, you can see the full video here. It's powerful on a number of different levels..................

GREAT olbermann wtf moment to NO brain of steele
Olbermann butchers RNC chairman on same-sex marriage
by David Edwards and John Byrne
Same-sex marriage doesn't hurt small businesses.
That's according to MSNBC's Keith Olbermann, who excoriated Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele on his "Countdown" program Monday.
Steele said Sunday that legalizing same-sex marriage would hurt small businesses because they'd be liable for more spouses.
"Now all of a sudden I've got someone who wasn't a spouse before, that I had no responsibility for, who is now getting claimed as a spouse that I now have financial responsibility for," Steele told Republicans in Georgia. "So how do I pay for that? Who pays for that? You just cost me money."
But Olbermann pointed out that weddings are a boon for small businesses and studies have estimated that same-sex marriage legalization will create thousands of new jobs.
"Mr. Steele, in this country, weddings are a $70 billion a year industry," Olbermann remarked. "B, billion, as in Bridezilla. Seventy billion. Most of it spread among local florists, local photographers, local hotels, local restaurants, local bridal stores..........

Olbermann: 'Absurd' Bush defender 'had to be stoned'
David Edwards and Rachel Oswald
Former Bush press secretary Ari Fleischer’s Wednesday attempts to spin the Bush presidency on Iraq and the economy were met with nothing but derision and disdain by MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann who said Fleischer must have been ‘stoned’ to make such statements.
Appearing on Hardball with Chris Matthews earlier in the day, Fleischer defended former President Bush’s legacy, saying “I think Barack Obama should say ‘thank you’ every day that he inherited a world without Saddam Hussein in it.”
He added that as a result of the Bush tax cuts, the country got “55 straight months of job creation.”
Fleischer also attempted to propagate the now widely discredited neoconservative theory that Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden were allies and that Hussein had a hand in 9/11 by saying, “After Sept. 11, how could we take a chance that Saddam might not strike again.”
To all of these statements, Olbermann on his Wednesday night program Countdown responded with “Fleischer had to be stoned” and that recent attempts by Fleischer and other Bush aides to spin the presidency were “patently absurd” and “almost insane.”

sure, i believe there is recividism
i believe our msm should NEVER take the word of anyone without first investigating it. sure, it's ok for a news source to say, 'the pentagon reported 63 acts of recidivism', but then they MUST follow it up by 'however, we have not confirmed that figure' OR 'the pentagon also claimed 2 acts of recidivism two weeks ago'. i want the WHOLE picture not just a pinpoint.
Pentagon's terror 'recidivism' claims blasted as 'propaganda'
David Edwards and Stephen C. Webster
Ever wonder how many of President Bush's terror war detainees were released, only to "return to the fight"?
"Their numbers have changed from 20, to 12, to seven, to more than five, to two, to a couple, to a few, 25, 29, 12, and then 24," quoted Keith Olbermann on Thursday's edition of Countdown.
The latest figure, 61, which was carried unchallenged by CNN, the MSNBC host noted, appears to be nothing but "propaganda."
A study published by Seton Hall Law Professor Mark Denbeaux on Jan. 15 finds the Pentagon wrongly altered its figures on terrorist 'recidivism' 43 times, with the latest figure being "the most egregiously so."

Whistleblower: NSA spied on everyone, targeted journalists
David Edwards and Muriel Kane
Updates: Sen. Rockefeller believes NSA may have spied on him; Ex-NSA analyst believes program a remnant of 'Total Information Awareness'
Former National Security Agency analyst Russell Tice, who helped expose the NSA's warrantless wiretapping in December 2005, has now come forward with even more startling allegations. Tice told MSNBC's Keith Olbermann on Wednesday that the programs that spied on Americans were not only much broader than previously acknowledged but specifically targeted journalists.
"The National Security Agency had access to all Americans' communications -- faxes, phone calls, and their computer communications," Tice claimed. "It didn't matter whether you were in Kansas, in the middle of the country, and you never made foreign communications at all. They monitored all communications."
Tice further explained that "even for the NSA it's impossible to literally collect all communications. ... What was done was sort of an ability to look at the metadata ... and ferret that information to determine what communications would ultimately be collected.".......

i t hought the war was over
the war i am referring to is THE CIVIL WAR. are 'these people' (and by 'these people' i mean the sarevils of the world. the pfotenhaurers of the world. the bachmanns of the world) trying to drive a wedge between america? are they trying to start a rift? are they trying to pit one side against the other (i mean in a VIOLENT way)? it seems the answer is most obviously YES and that to me sounds like a crime. we let mccarthy run rampant without stopping him. are we going to allow these mouth foamers to do the same thing to OUR (and i DO mean yours and mine) country? (psssssssttttttttttttttttttt it's ALL one country and i'm allowed to use free speech and have free will)
Olbermann: Divisive Politics is anti-
American
Nick Cargo and David Edwards
MSNBC's Keith Olbermann took time in his Monday "Special Comment" segment to point out an "orgy of condescending elitism" in recent tactics, "divisive, ugly, paranoid bleatings" of "Us vs. Them" by McCain surrogates, that he says do more to undermine America than anything they can accuse Senator Obama of doing.
Olbermann recalled writer Dick Young, "whose work, with ever-increasing frequency, became peppered with references to 'my America,' -- 'I can't believe this is happening in my America,' 'We do not tolerate these people in my America,' 'This man does not belong in my America.'"
"His America gradually revealed itself," he said: "Insular, isolationist, backwards-looking, mindlessly flag-waving, racist, no second chances, a million rules... but only for the other guy.
"Dick Young died in 1987 but he has been reborn in the presidential campaign as is has unfolded since last Thursday night. In that time, Governor Sarah Palin, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, McCain spokeswoman Nancy Pfotenhauer and Rush Limbaugh have revealed that there [are] measurable portions of this country that [are] not interested in that which the vast majority view as democracy or equality or opportunity--they want only control, and they want the rest of us, symbolically--perhaps physically--out."........
Palin Apologizes for 'Real America' Comments
Two Congressmen Face Backlash After Their Own Remarks Questioning Others' Patriotism
Washington Post Staff WriterAlaska Gov. Sarah Palin apologized yesterday for implying that some parts of the country are more American than others, even as similar comments by two Republican congressmen were causing a backlash that threatened their chances for reelection.
In an interview on CNN, Palin said comments she made last week in North Carolina praising small towns as "the real America" and the "pro-America areas of this great nation" were not intended to suggest that other parts of the country are less patriotic or less American.
"If that's the way it has come across, I apologize," she told CNN's Drew Griffin..........
hey sarevil, i for one, DO NOT accept your apology! why? because i do NOT for one SECOND for one MILISECOND believe your sincerity. i think the ONLY reason you apologized is because you see what's happening to bachmann AND because mccain is MAKING you apologize. i truly believe if you had your way you would literally lock people like me up (sarevil THIS IS NOT CUBA BY THE WAY, IT'S AMERICA. i'm ALLOWED to believe differently than you are AND YOU'RE still allowed to be an american even though what YOU believe is mostly a load o' shite).

this IS true of course
right at the beginning of this illegal, immoral and unjust war, i read (or saw, i have forgotten) a story about a young man in the military. he was a translator. he spoke arabic. he was also gay. he was booted from the miliary. HOW INSANE IS THAT?
Olbermann: America fears gays more than terrorists
by PageOneQ
The government's more afraid of its own gays than international terrorists, said MSNBC's Keith Olbermann.
After firing over 300 gay translators under the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," which prevents gay and lesbian personnel from serving openly, the military is now preparing to offer retention bonuses of up to $150,000 to those who remain, as the Christian Science Monitor reported Tuesday. The policy that put the military in such a position, which Olbermann called "moronic," he notes, remains in place, as costs to replace the translators, in bonuses alone, could reach $45 million............

my third posting on this shite

"We told you yesterday about this, the unbearable Rachel Ray in an ad for the donut and coffee chain, to which the lunatic fringe responded in an apoplexy of xenophobic paranoia, because that, that thing around her neck, that is not just a stupid scarf; they think that is what Yasser Arafat used to wear on his head," Olbermann intoned. "See, it‘s jihadist chic. Having already driven business to Dunkin' Donuts by applauding its supposed stance in favor of tough immigration laws, the right threatened to boycott."
Olbermann added, "So what did Dunkin' Donuts do? They folded. They were as weak as their decaf." ..........

one would hope this is an april fools joke
faux 'news' is loved!
America's No. 1 Fox News Democrat Ed Rendell strikes again
Ed Rendell, by way of Michael Calderone at the Politico:
"I think during this entire primary coverage, starting in Iowa and up to the present -- FOX has done the fairest job, and remained the most objective of all the cable networks. You hate both of our candidates. No, I’m only kidding. But you actually have done a very balanced job of reporting the news, and some of the other stations are just caught up with Senator Obama, who is a great guy, but Senator Obama can do no wrong, and Senator Clinton can do no right.”
So, if I read this correctly, Fox News Democrat Rendell is endorsing objective reporting like the bogus Fox story that Obama was educated in a madrassa in Indonesia, because it wasn't Hillary bashing. Even one of Fox's star reporters blasted Fox's lack of "objectivity" on Obama recently. Since FNC's also been critical of Clinton lately, is Rendell calling them "objective" because they run biased stories bashing BOTH Democratic candidates?.........
