GOP Shocked by Charges of Racism
By Osha Gray Davidson

GOP leader Michael Steele claims to be shocked, shocked by former President Jimmy Carter's statement that racism may play a role in some of the extreme and personal attacks on President Barack Obama.

Steele thrashed Democrats for "injecting race into the debate over critical issues facing American families..."

You know those Dems. They'll probably find some crazy 'racial' subtext to Rush Limabaugh complaining that "in Obama's America the white kids now get beat up with the black kids cheering, 'Yay, right on, right on, right on, right on.'"........

An Unnecessary War
By Jimmy Carter
I know from personal involvement that the devastating invasion of Gaza by Israel could easily have been avoided. After visiting Sderot last April and seeing the serious psychological damage caused by the rockets that had fallen in that area, my wife, Rosalynn, and I declared their launching from Gaza to be inexcusable and an act of terrorism. Although casualties were rare (three deaths in seven years), the town was traumatized by the unpredictable explosions. About 3,000 residents had moved to other communities, and the streets, playgrounds and shopping centers were almost empty. Mayor Eli Moyal assembled a group of citizens in his office to meet us and complained that the government of Israel was not stopping the rockets, either through diplomacy or military action. ......

another example of a faux news 'expert'

sick-making

you know it's one thing to make 'jokes' if you're on letterman or the daily show. it's entirely another story when you're on an alleged NEWS show
Luntz: "Jimmy Carter was the first female president"
During the March 5 edition of Fox News' Fox & Friends, while discussing the electability of Sen. Hillary Clinton with a focus group of young voters at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, pollster Frank Luntz claimed that "Hillary Clinton would not be the first female president. Jimmy Carter was the first female president."
Media Matters for America has previously highlighted comments Luntz made in front of focus groups he was conducting for Fox. During a March 2 edition of Fox News' America's Election HQ, Luntz
falsely asserted to a focus group that Sen. Barack Obama "doesn't have foreign policy experience." On the February 21 edition of Fox News' Hannity & Colmes, while discussing a debate between Obama and Clinton, he asked a focus group: "[H]ow many of you want them to make love to each other?"
Luntz also reportedly has a
history of reprimand and censure by his peers. In 1997, the American Association for Public Opinion Research reprimanded Luntz for refusing to release documentation in support of comments he made to the media regarding his polling work on the Contract with America, according to a 2000 Salon.com article. Similarly, Washington Post polling director Richard Morin reported in 2000 that the National Council on Public Polls "censured pollster Frank Luntz for allegedly mischaracterizing on MSNBC the results of focus groups he conducted during the [2000] Republican Convention."..........

i think carter SHOULD have gone even further

in his analysis of the king. it's not just his FOREIGN policies that are dangerous, it's his DOMESTIC ones just as much if not more (illegal wiretapping, katrina, his nominations for various positions, his speaking to his imaginary friend lil' jesus, his refusal to listen to the american people WHOM HE WORKS FOR, his repealing all sorts of environmental laws, etc)

carter was being kind. i'm not

i think king george IS THE worst leader in the entire universe. i also think he was/is THE WORST president we have EVER had.
and i mean it

Bush Is 'the Worst in History' In Foreign Relations, Carter Says

Associated PressSunday, May 20, 2007; Page A07
LITTLE ROCK, May 19 -- Former president Jimmy Carter called President Bush's international relations "the worst in history" and also took aim at Bush's environmental policies and the administration's "quite disturbing" faith-based initiative program.
The criticism came in an interview with the
Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, which reported Carter's remarks Saturday. The denunciation of a sitting president was unprecedented for Carter, a biographer said.
The former president also lashed out at British Prime Minister Tony Blair. Asked by BBC Radio how he would judge Blair's support of Bush, Carter said: "Abominable. Loyal. Blind. Apparently subservient. And I think the almost undeviating support by Great Britain for the ill-advised policies of President Bush in Iraq have been a major tragedy for the world."..........
