‘C Street’ group tied to Ensign is linked to yet another secretive group

The powerful and secretive group known as the Fellowship Foundation or the “Family” is quickly gaining notoriety, due to its links to two scandal-plagued Republicans, Senator John Ensign of Nevada and Governor Mark Sanford of South Carolina.

According to the Washington Post, however, the Fellowship Foundation is itself linked to an even more secretive religious organization — Youth With a Mission (YWAM), whose Washington, DC branch owns the “C Street House” where Ensign has lived and where Sanford has participated in Bible study.

A diarist at Daily Kos points out that “YWAM founder leader Loren Cunningham has publicly outlined a vision for Christian world-control,” which involves establishing domination over government, education, business, the media, and other areas.

The last time YWAM came to notice was in 2006, when Loren Cunningham’s son, David Cunningham, gained attention as the director of ABC’s bitterly anti-Clinton “docudrama,” The Path to 9/11. According to Talking Points Memo, the younger Cunningham’s ties to YWAM were discovered by Digby and discussed at length on both Daily Kos and Democratic Underground..........

i don't know very much at all about him. i know a couple of things and i didn't like those things at all. then when i heard he was missing and no one knew where he was i rather smacked my forehead and said ''hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm". then they all knew he was on the 'appalachian trail' "hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm". I EFFING KNEW HE WAS OUT SOMEWHERE BOINKIN' SOMEONE (other than the missus that is). i've been on the appalachian trail and i knew damn well governor sanford was NOT on it (yeah, felt it in my bones).

by the way, it's NOT a republican thing. it's not a democratic thing. COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Gov. Mark Sanford has always painted himself as a family man, a red state conservative whose annual Christmas cards featured pictures of his wife and their four sons.

So when he tearfully confessed a yearlong affair with a woman he visited on a secret trip to Argentina, reaction ranged from embarrassment over his behavior to pity for his family. But there was a common theme: surprise that the man named as a possible 2012 GOP presidential contender had been cheating on his wife.

"I was shocked, shocked," said Tom Daly, 42, a magazine editor in Charleston. "First of all, he's a Republican golden boy and he's a strict, staunch conservative. I'm so shocked. It was something I did not expect."............

SC first to get 'I Believe' license plates

Bills allow SC residents to get 'I Believe' license plates, pray at meetings

South Carolina's lieutenant governor announced Thursday that he is willing to put up $4,000 of his own money so his state can become the first in the nation to issue "I Believe" license plates with the image of a cross and a stained glass window.

The legislation allowing the plates was one of several religious-themed bills to became laws in the closing days of the state's legislative session.

The bills mean South Carolinians attending local government meetings could soon see the Ten Commandments and the Lord's Prayer posted on walls, pray without fear of being sued and drive home in cars with the "I Believe" plates.

Civil rights groups are considering lawsuits. An attorney for the New York-based American Jewish Congress, Mark Stern, said the bills are an obvious endorsement of religion by legislators in an election year. His group is looking to sue over the plates.
