i like the title of this: peace takes courage (it does you know)

By Brave Nation

It's hard to call someone younger than 18 years old a "legend," but Ava Lowery is just that in progressive circles. She created a website at fourteen where she made videos railing against the war in Iraq. Today, her site, peacetakescourage.com, gets nearly two million hits per month. And she doesn't live in a liberal hotbed like San Francisco or New York, rather in a small town in Alabama. Anthony Romero is the son of Puerto Rican emigrants and grew up to not only be the first in his family to go to college, but to become the Executive Director of the American Civil Liberties Union--the first Latino and openly gay head of the venerable organization, and someone we thought Ava should have on her cell phone speed dial. Just in case. Together they discuss the legal quagmire the country has sunk into since 9/11, among other quagmires created by George W. Bush and his Administration. .........

once again, SOMEONE has stones. once again someone has a soul. once again someone has a moral compass. once again someone is attempting to protect MY liberty and MY country (while most of the rest of our lawmakers sit on their big fat asses)

Kucinich presents Bush impeachment articles
David Edwards and Mike Sheehan
An Ohio Democratic lawmaker and former presidential candidate has presented articles of impeachment against President George W. Bush to Congress.
Thirty-five articles were presented by Rep. Dennis Kucinich to the House of Representatives late Monday evening, airing live on C-SPAN.
"The House is not in order," said Kucinich to Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), upon which Pelosi pounded her gavel.
"Resolved," Kucinich then began, "that President George W. Bush be impeached for high crimes and misdemeanors, and that the following articles of impeachment be exhibited to the United States Senate. ...
"In his conduct while President of the United States, George W. Bush, in violation of his constitutional oath to faithfully execute the office of president of the United States, and to the best of his ability preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, and in violation of his constitutional duty to take care that the laws be faithfully executed, has committed the following abuses of power..."
The first article Kucinich presented, and many that followed, regarded the war in Iraq: "Article 1 - Creating a secret propaganda campaign to manufacture a false case for war against Iraq."
On several occasions, Kucinich referenced
RAW STORY and its noted investigative news chief, Larisa Alexandrovna, as source material for the articles. Two of the RAW STORY pieces Kucinich mentioned are viewable here and here.............

Kucinich - Update 3 - MSM picks up impeachment story...
Kucinich's bombshell - me?
I had no idea until the entire planet started to call me to congratulate me for being part of the Articles of Impeachment. I missed it (while I went to get coffee) and came back to chaos in the household. Here are some snips from RS article on Dennis Kucinich's articles of impeachment speech on the House floor today (RS also has the footage):

Bush admin official favored "Jesus" over paying Vet Benefits
by Eternal Hope
That is what Department of Veterans Affairs Undersecretary Daniel Cooper thought; he has resigned under pressure for his extremism.
Another high-ranking George W. Bush administration official has resigned. The Department of Veterans Affairs Undersecretary for Benefits Daniel Cooper quit Thursday amid mounting criticism over a backlog of disability claims for injured veterans that runs six months long and an appearance he made in a fundraising video for an evangelical Christian organisation where he said Bible study was more important than doing his job.
Cooper has been under fire for using his office to proselytise for evangelical Christianity ever since he appeared in a 2004 fundraising video for Christian Embassy, which carries out missionary work among the Washington elite as part of the Campus Crusade for Christ.
In the video, Cooper says of his Bible study, "It's not really about carving out time, it really is a matter of saying what is important. And since that's more important than doing the job -- the job's going to be there, whether I'm there or not." ..........
