to me, this is absolutely mind boggling

IF this is true (and they're sayin' they have YEARS worth of evidence, but then again they convicted don siegelman on 'evidence' too) HOW STUPID is this dude? (well are THESE dudes?)

wrigley stadium? the trib? SELLING SENATE SEATS?

was it (allegedly) greed?

was it (allegedly) as blago said, his lack of funds (if a GOVERNOR is broke think how his PEEPS are getting by)

really, i am SO at a loss here. IF true, this is the saddest, most moronic thing i have heard in a LONG LONG LONG TIME.

doesn't he know about wire taps?

shite, didn't he ever watch the wire? the sopranos? see donnie brasco? READ THE "BLEEPING" PATRIOT ACT?

i guess he is NOT a citizen above suspicion

FBI Arrests Ill. Governor Rod Blagojevich
Complaint Alleges Gov. Tried to Sell Obama's Senate Seat

Washington Post Staff Writers

FBI agents this morning arrested Illinois Gov. Rod R. Blagojevich (D) and his chief of staff on conspiracy and bribery charges, including allegations that the governor was seeking to benefit financially from his appointment of a successor to the U.S. Senate seat that was vacated by President-elect Barack Obama.

The arrest of Blagojevich, 51, and his top aide, John Harris, 46, capped a lengthy investigation into public corruption at the highest levels of state government. The two men later appeared in a federal courthouse in Chicago before U.S. Magistrate Judge Nan Nolan, who ordered the governor's release on $4,500 bond.

Blagovich, appearing in court in sweat pants, gym shoes and an athletic shirt, was also ordered to relinquish his passport and his firearm owner's identification card, the Associated Press reported......

GOP Asks 'Chicago Tribune' Not to Publish Errant 'Rush Limbaugh' Email -- Doesn't Stop Paper
By E&P Staff
NEW YORK What to do when you are mistakenly sent a highly provocative, even distasteful, email from a political party staffer and are then asked not to publish its contents? The issue came up again today when the Chicago Tribune received an email from a GOP staffer regarding a suggestion that the party post something on YouTube regarding a radio comment by Rush Limbaugh related to Sarah Palin's new baby and Barack Obama's view of abortion. Here is an excerpt from a posting today on the Tribune's popular blog, The Swamp, by Andrew Zajac. * Conservative radio commentator Rush Limbaugh boosted Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's pro-life position and mocked Barack Obama on his radio show yesterday with a make-believe riff in which Obama asked Palin "When you found out your baby would be born with Down syndrome, did you consider killing it before or after the due date?" Limbaugh's "humor" caught the fancy of the Republican National Committee, which, in an internal e-mail, proposed using the bit in a YouTube clip...........

Administration Reportedly Forces Out EPA Official

By Juliet Eilperin and Kari Lydersen Washington Post Staff Writers
A senior regional Environmental Protection Agency official who had feuded with Dow Chemical over a toxic cleanup site in Michigan resigned Thursday under pressure from the Bush administration, according to published reports.
Mary A. Gade, who headed the EPA's Midwest regional office in Chicago, had fought for months with Dow over plans to address dioxin-contaminated soil and sediment in Saginaw Bay and Lake Huron stemming from the chemical giant's Midland, Mich., plant. Dioxin, which at low levels of exposure has been found to cause cancer as well as immune and reproductive system problems, is a byproduct in the production of Agent Orange and other chemical products.
Gade -- who was appointed to her post in 2006 by
President Bush -- told the Chicago Tribune on Thursday that two aides to EPA administrator Stephen L. Johnson stripped her of her power as regional administrator and informed her she could either quit or be fired by June 1. "There's no question this is about Dow," she told the Tribune. "I stand behind what I did and what my staff did. I'm proud of what we did."
Efforts to reach Gade to independently confirm the Tribune account were unsuccessful. .......
